So, I’m finally getting around to reviewing your one-shots and I must say it’s great to be rereading them all – each one of them has such great life and unique detail and yet they each seem to relate or be linked to one another…it’s quite a gift you have! With this one, I quite like the opening paragraph/introduction – I like how you’ve established the Universe, the characters living within it (Life and Death – Tru and Jack) and the roles these characters play, not to mention the little vessels of information you give in short bursts (“When Death crosses to the other side to aide her…to be her protector…her secret lover”) – and of course, you’ve added the tie in with Dollhouse (“With her life, she trusts him”).

I was immediately drawn in by the narrative after the introduction, and found the thread of the story compelling and richly dark, in a good way of course. The fact that you explained the histories of the characters, in particular Tru and Jack’s relationship and how they are “fated lovers”, gives a nice sense of continuation of the series, and Jensen’s jealousy being the catalyst for him poisoning Tru was indeed a great choice.

It was such a short piece and yet there was a lot of story being told and a lot of beautiful detail being used – I admire this quality, being able to compress such great depth into such little space and yet keeping the right amount of depth, another truly great gift!

Such a beautifully tragic touch at the end, with Tru trusting Jack to let her go and to let her be free – tragic! But then, that’s where “For A Little While” begins so not to worry, perhaps a happy ending for them after all :)

awe, this about made me tear up! It was amazing and written well! So i know this didn't happen, but i was totally hoping that after she died she would say those two words, "Save Me." and I know Jacks all into if they die let them stay dead, but it's Tru his love!

Anyhoo I'm going to sound a lot like a broken record player right now, but this was amazing!! :D

First of all, thank you for the sweet and much appreciated dedication. I am honored to be an inspiration to an aspiring and talented writer. Here's my humble review:

Congratulations on this beautiful New Age-y portrait you very well presented. It's great how you explained in the introduction the opposing powers that complete each other. My mind was wandering in the vast space of the universe and picturing the struggle and the balance in a way that prepared me for what was coming.

I can see your signature and unique way of writing, and something that most of your stories have in common in how Jack is always rushing to help Tru. He is her hero, with his warm comforting voice and his sweet touch (“Tru, I’m here,” he repeats again softly, brushing a few strands of her dark chocolate brown curls away from her eyes.").

("For they were lovers of the soul, a bond so deep that it would remain perpetually suspended in the universe.") Simple and beautiful way of explaining their love.

Again, Jensen is the bad guy! Hehe... I agree.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but *("He could see a note attached to the bottle, presumably the one he had supposedly have left for Tru.") grammatical mistake?

Those lines from "The Target" you very creatively used suit perfectly to those sad moments in your story. Those are my favorite lines in the Dollhouse episode, and are my favorite lines in your story as well. I love how you used that line as the title for this piece too.

However, if you weren't such a dear friend, I would be mad at you for killing Tru! You successfully made cry…. Hehehe. I felt like I was reading a Joss Whedon story, he too finds it easy to kill the lead characters :) Unless there is another chapter for this piece in which Tru miraculously gets another chance…?

Overall, beautiful work, keep that creativity flowing.
