I gotta admit that I have never been a fan of the open to interpretation endings. To me, we followed along with the story because your imagination and words painted a picture in our heads, and you gave to finish the painting for us to see the whole thing. But, I respect your need to end it there, and I prefer to gave hope in our couple. To be honest, I'm more focused on the fact some readers actually were upset with Bella's reaction. Seriously? They seriously don't see why she reacted the way she did? Nearly being raped by her boyfriend wasn't enough for them? How do you justify his actions enough for it to be okay? I totally don't get that. Maybe some women wouldn't have reacted as strongly as Bella, but that doesn't make her reaction any less justified for it. Heck, some women would have liked it, and that's their prerogative and nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, thanks for writing! It's been interesting to follow this and see what the big reveal was.

Huh, it didn't end as tragically as I thought it would. Thank goodness, because I'd bawl like a baby. This one was sad, but had a small spark of hope with it. I liked how you ended it.

Oh the blame game. How odd it can be. I understand Bella's fear and I don't hold it against her, but she is in the wrong by never saying anything. She broke up with him without ever telling him what was wrong or what happened. What would be interesting would be to see Bella's side of the story. And you can't help but feel sorry for Edward all the way through the story. Sure he made a mistake, but he doesn't even remember it. Plus he's pining after a girl who doesn't know how to communicate with him yet thinks that she can put him back together. If anything he should be picking himself up and let Bella heal herself. Love is a powerful things but it doesn't withstand everything.

Ah, but that is the fulcrum of human society. You wrote a beautiful story showing the problems with our own humanity-the need for everything to work out perfectly. Great job.

I hope that they do work on their relationship, they both obviously care for one another. :)

I love you and this fic and fallward and abigail and and and i'm so fucking happy you wrote this! Mels, this might be my fave fic of all time. He's come so far in just 20 chapters… i mean, he's done this awful thing to the girl he loves, and yet… he's still completely ernest, I guess. I never once felt like he was duplicitous, despite what he'd done.

I didn't think that it would end this way, but then again, I didn't anticipate that it would evolve the way it has. It's far surpassed all of it. I mean, it went from the story of a couple, to the story of a boy coming into his own.

He's right though; sometimes, it takes a great fall to truly see what's important and who you are.

I love this… words can't even adequately express how in awe i am of you right now.
