I say that because this coincides perfectly with my view of Slytherin: that they can't *all* be as bad as Harry and the Wizarding World at large seems to think they are.

And you're right: the reason so many Slytherins went over to Voldemort is that they had nowhere else to go, that the Wizarding World wouldn't allow them to be functioning members of society, and Voldemort at least promised a place where they would be accepted, even if it was very dangerous. The Slytherins who didn't join Voldemort would have had a very hard time of it; my guess is their loyalties would have always been suspect. They would have been the ones pushed the hardest, the ones forced into fights with old classmates and friends just to prove their loyalties. It was a lose-lose situation if you were in Slytherin, no matter what path you took.

This is really great. I love how you've picked out characters no one would ever think of, especially since when you wrote this not all the books were out. McGonagall was well portrayed, and although I don't think that is the canon interpretation it worked really well.

This is really an important line of thoughts you spinn out for us. I believe in the end most people were convinced that the sorting should be abandoned ... but of course it would have been much better coming to that conclusion a lot earlier.

really good story. Excellent, Brillant! But when Percy started at Hogwarts, Bill and Charlie would both have still been there. It's really a great story and really, really well written. I love how you added Draco in and made him seem like another Snape. Excellent! THe story fits really well in the what happens in DH. Great job! two thumbs!

wow... i generally don't read angst but you certainly got my attention with this one! It fits nicely and makes sense. You're a wonderful writer and using Mcgonagall's POV was a good idea.
