Your portrayal of their relationship was well within canon, and not many writers achieve that :) While I was reading this short piece, I was thinking that I would gladly read more from you, but I've seen from your profile that you have not written anything else in this fandom:(( I hope it just a matter of time! :)

I liked this little bit in their lives. You kept in character with these two, Scarlett the greedy little hypocrite, spoiled ex-belle that she is. And poor Rhett the lovestruck blockader who knows not where he is navigating...talk about rough seas. I hope to see more of this story or others that you have written.

Rhett is so incorrigeble, he knew exactly what he was doing when he gave her that book, he knew exactly what she would do.

Wonderful. I think you recreated 'their barbed friendship' with flawless accuracy and great imagination. I could easily see this scene playing out in the book, it would fit perfectly. Very in character (both R&S characters are spot-on) and very well written.

This was really funny...and at the same time, rather sad. Scarlett is so immature and blind to what Rhett really wants, but she's so young, can one blame her? And as for Rhett...well, he always hides behind sarcasm, doesn't he?

Anyway, I thought this seemed like it could be a scene from the book. You have their voices down pat. You should try more one-shots!
