I'm usually bad with Romance stuff. But I liked this quite a lot. Might have to do with the fact that I love smarmy literary references, Pietro, and Lance, and never would've thought to throw em together.
Either way, nice use of the internal monologue. I dunno about the pairing, but I do really like your style, and the concept.

Aww how sweet. John Donne's poem is definately one of the best conceits I've ever read. Really interesting how you made the poem relate to their relationship. Really kick ass story.
