I love the story.

Hm... a character? Actually, I've been mulling over the idea for a character for sometime now.

Here's one idea for possibly a little comic relief.

Name: Reijo Sable

Age: 21 standard years

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Role and Occupation: Xenologist (study of various species, like an expanded anthropology). Comic relief.

Background: Reijo just can't seem to catch a break. He comes from a fairly wealthy merchant family; he's the youngest of four. His family's wealth originally paid for his education and got his research off the ground. While successful enough to make a living and acquire second hand equipment. He's especially enthusiastic about force users (of any affinity). The problem is...

1) The empire doesn't want research to come to light about force users.

2) Major force user organizations are generally fairly secretive about their going ons.

As a result, Reijo spends most of his time on a wild goose chase

Personality:

Contradicting his name (Reijo means Vigilant/Watchful), Reijo is actually a fairly clumsy person who often misses answers staring at him in the face.

Still, Reijo's enthusiasm for his research keeps him upbeat and optimistic, even if unrealistic at times.

Also lending to his childlike tendencies is his distract-ability. Many a times he'd sidetrack his main research to enjoy a planet's cuisine, or local attractions.

He'll also go out of his way to help someone out. This is both a good and bad thing:

he's somewhat susceptible to being conned,

and he has a warm heart that has earned him many friends and connections.

Name: Jasira Albus

Age: 17 Standard years

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Role and Occupation: Intern/Assistant to Reijo. The main reason for her existence is because her personality contrasts Reijo's, functioning to highlight his antics. In fact, their last names mean black (Sable) and white (Albus).

Background: Jasira is Reijo's niece, via Reijo's older sister. She started working for Reijo when she was 15, and start traveling with him a year prior. Her official duty is mainly paper work. In addition to that, she assists with research, ship maintenance, and unofficially functions as Reijo's eyes and ears.

Personality: Jaira is like her mother: serious, focused, somber, and down-to-earth.

While Reijo is enthusiastic Jaira is calm. While Reijo is idealistic and optimistic, Jaira is realistic and even cynical on occasion. Because of her focus, Jaira is often the one to get Reijo back on track, and often is annoyed by his sidetracks.

She tends to act aloof towards things, though this is really a fascade on Jaira's part, and will drop with age.

Her favorite beverage is spiced tea. She always seems to have a thermajug of it on hand.

Jaira and Reijo's relationship: Despite his child like attitude and antics, Reijo is in fact well versed in his field, and has much to teach young Jaira. Reijo feels very affectionate towards his niece. Her aloofness concerns him at times.

Jaira finds Reijo's antics very annoying, and is often the one to get him back on track. Never the less, she has a great respect for Reijo's knowledge, and does her best to stay patient, and learn all she can. Although she doesn't act like it, Jaira does care deeply about her uncle.

I like this new version where Luke wants to be healer and is going somewhere somewhat similar to learning the force though not as strict as a jedi.

I especially like this chapter where Luke visits his mother's grave bringing the symbolic Hope flower, and unknowingly meets his father and imparts some wisdom beyond his age.

This so scene with Vader and Luke at Padme's grave was Luke knows that Padme was his seems so mature and brave.
