People who do not love Taran/Eilonwy are...well, I won't be judgmental and say unkind things, but I do not understand them. :)

This is quite sweet, and it's very engaging the way you've woven all the little mini-flashbacks around Taran's work, the way the thoughts must be going through his mind, distracting him.

Some very lovely poetic elements here; the heat "wrapped around his brow", the sun "breathing" behind her hair, the apples like little hearts put to rest. Beautiful.

I like how it ends. I don't think there's anything terribly out of character about a chaste little cheek kiss at this point, and it makes a charming and fitting wrap-up. Well done!
