 Sony Boy 2009-11-21 . chapter 8who! *cheering*
I have to say that this is...I'm so happy I found this. I like stories in this genre and love it when I find a story that's original or different.
I really do hope that there is a sequal. I'll have to check. |
lex1621 2009-11-16 . chapter 8This was absolutely incredible, I truly enjoyed it and can't wait or the next story! |
Lord Lugos 2009-11-15 . chapter 2I love AU's, no matter how much they change. But, yes, a but, I don't like it when they change the base properties of a character. I wonder can you explain why? I am of course referring to Blaise Zabini, which you describe as a white haired female when in fact he is a dark skinned male. JK said this a good four years ago, I believe. As a guy, the ultimate emasculation of characters gets to me a bit
Other than that, I find this story fairly interesting, even though it makes me a bit nervous, and that foreboding sense hasn't really left. |
Lord Lugos 2009-11-15 . chapter 1Cool start, if not a bit foreboding. Mainly the part about Hedwig, that's just too sad. In stories like this, I always hope Harry can manage to find an adult confidant that can help him out. Cedric might be a good start, I've read a few of Ced helps Harry fics. Too bad those haven't updated in forever, they were good. I'm curious about the chapter titles, but, oh well. Let's see what happens next. :) |
rifraf 2009-11-12 . chapter 8Great story, I love the direction you (collectively) took with this fanfic. It's unusual to see something good that's truly unique these days, I find, and you've definitely managed that, and kept it fun, clever, well-written and reasonably 'realistic' (for a story about magic!). I never got the point of fanfics where Harry has/develops super powers or becomes all-knowing/wise, where's the interest in that? Anyway, great story. I look forward to seeing where you go with this. |
Akizuki Yakuko Hoshiu 2009-11-10 . chapter 8Nice work, it's nice to see a story where Harry's not an idiot, but still in Gryffindor. Him wanting to go into Hufflepuff at the beginning was great, they're never given enough recognition. But if Harry wasn't beaten by his uncle more than three times would he really want them all dead? And thank you so much for not making your Dumbledore purposefully manipulative, or atleast maliciously or greedily. |
uo-chou 2009-11-06 . chapter 8Excellent work! I look forward to reading more. Please keep it up, and thanks again for sharing. |
uo-chou 2009-11-06 . chapter 7Wow, that's pretty heartless, leaving those other boys to finish the task for him. I like the development with the cloak... Hopefully it leads to something interesting. |
uo-chou 2009-11-06 . chapter 6Interesting. So I guess the points that your story and canon diverge on are Harry's access to a radio for much of his childhood and it's subsequent knowledge evolving his perceptions of the world and thus his personality, as well as his metamorphmagus talent?
You also keep alluding to an "accident"... I look forward to find out what that is exactly.
I must say that overall, I am heartily enjoying this story. I look forward to reading the next two chapter you have written, and hopefully, more. Please keep up the excellent work, and thank you for sharing. |
what are you even saying 2009-11-03 . chapter 8Absolutely brilliant story, I loved every bit of it! You Harry was unsympathetic at points, but developed well alongside your other characters. I'm particularly pleased by how many minor characters you've developed alongside him. Having Dean be such a prat was a nice creative move, not to mention Katie, Cedric and Blaise's characters. All very good.
I'll be checking out the sequel once I get some sleep. |
 mannd1068 2009-11-01 . chapter 8Good story! |
count revan 2009-10-27 . chapter 8 By far one of the most interesting fics I've read. |
Vilkath 2009-10-26 . chapter 5Pretty telling fact that some one almost dies to blatant cheating in Quiditch.. and no one cares.. keeps on playing against same cheating team. Plus even if Hooch was looking what the worst could happen, a pentalty shot? Is it worth some one's life? I figure everyone is an idiot to play that game for no real prize and lots and lots of cost. |
Vilkath 2009-10-26 . chapter 4So far it's kind of disapointing in how little this very AU harry is changing things. He's smart, sarcastic and has a healthy love for self preservation.. yet when push comes to shove nothing really changes. He still doesn't stand up to Snape, Dumbledore or even Woods when he running him into the ground about Quiditch. Not mention risking life and death injuries for a game he doesn't care for just because he's scared of how the house might feel about him? Worse yet if he loses they would all blame him, yet if he won it's only doing what the great Harry Potter is expected to do.
If harry can't even stand up for himself enough to get Woods to lay off practice I can't imagine how he will ever deal with Snape or draco. |
Vilkath 2009-10-26 . chapter 2Always felt that hidden message of Harry Potter, and a few other series was on ethe worst things about them. That if some one has a bad day or childhood it excuses any and all wrong doing they might ever do later. That you should pity them for their unhappyness, and ignore their tendancy to spread it around. So Draco 'suffered' some, so we should allow him to spread suffering to others? Snape had a disagreement with James so he can ruin every life he ever touches for the rest of his life?
Odd as that philosphy is Dumbledore isn't even fair with it, if he truely believed 'bad life' equals the ability to do what ever you want he wouldn't pick any sides. Yet he always picks the bully's side and punishes the victims if they defend themself. Shouldn't harry be able act as bad as Draco did because his sad story of a life? Yet it's just not done.
Over all interesting start, I am some what concerned that so far despite all the 'changes' done to minor events the end result seemse to be mostly following canon events. Harry is in the same house, and for most part has the same friends, the same enemies and still to trusting of those in power. |
