neopets39 5/10/09 . chapter 1this is a realy thought provoking story. its well written and it also leads into how Esme is portrayed in the books (and movie) personaly i always thought she had a boy. even thought its a sad story its defeninatly one of the stories i think i will later be wondering if it is canon or fanfiction :) neo_pets39 |
awdkljgbekrng 4/30/09 . chapter 1oh my goodness, you write so beautifully:) |
ash902 4/14/09 . chapter 1Such a hard topic to cover, but you did it with a lot of care and grace. Your words we definitely poetic, especially at the end: "I struggle to find emotion in my breast. There is none. Though milky tears leak from my body for its loss, there are none for my soul. It has gone into the depths of the stinking earth with my heart, no more to return. I stare defiantly into the face of the moon, cold judging mother of the tides. Her children spread all over the surface of the earth, and she watches them nightly with her gentle smiles and tender caresses, pulling them as she will." So much imagry comes to mind and you force the reader to really look at what the words mean and appreciate it that much more. |
ShamaLamaDingDong 4/14/09 . chapter 1Wow that was mad deep I loved it. So tragic, but really beautiful. Love the title by the way, The Picture of Dorian Gray is awesome. SLDD |
vampskies 4/10/09 . chapter 1This is so tragic and beautifully written. I love the way that you have written the moon as a character observing Esme's grief. Thank you for writing! |
luv2read134 4/8/09 . chapter 1wow. that was really good. |
sdillon821 4/4/09 . chapter 1I really like this. You really captured the despair that I imagined Esme would feel after losing her baby. I think it would be neat if you were to continue this after the contest and tell about her becoming a vampire and living with Carlisle and Edward. |
kuntrygal 4/3/09 . chapter 1Wow! So sad. Very well written! |
MartiniBaby1 3/26/09 . chapter 1I have goosebumps all over my body, this is sad and so well written. I especially like the line 'a mother no more' *swallows hard* I'm going to vote, can you send me the link please? |
JeniBookworm 3/25/09 . chapter 1That was fatastic. you actually brought tears to my eyes. I have no words to describe how good that was. |
MPants 3/25/09 . chapter 1Wow Jen, really poignant. You've so perfectly brought a moment of Esme's back story to life. She's such a happy "woman" during most of the books; it shows just how much love can bring to a person's life. In a roundabout way, this is me saying that your story fits with canon. :) Does that make sense? I hope so, haha. MoW PoWer! -M |
AccioBourbon 3/23/09 . chapter 1Very moving. The first paragraph is emotionally devastating. And her defiant statements to the moon are excellent. Great job! |
