The Flying Frog 2009-09-03 . chapter 11Well done, well done. Love the chapter. Love the story...this is actually my second time reading through it. Anyway, as I was reading this chapter again, a thought occured to me as Bardock was describing Frieza's son. A hunter, one who sticks to the shadows, poison. This battle will quite likely be VERY different than the one's the Z fighters are used too.
Cell and Frieza were both power hungry killers. Frieza was a tyrant, a dictator, and his entire reputation existed by stamping out each and every threat. And if anyone came close to matching him, he would beat them, overpower them, injure them, break their spirits, and then kill them. He delighted in showing off his power and playing as the strongest. It made people fear him even more. Cell was vain. He sought the perfect form, perfect body, perfect reflexes, perfect mind. He wanted everyone to know he was perfect, and because they weren't they weren't deserving of life. Then comes Gohan, whose power rivals, and then surpasses Cell's. Cell takes him on to prove once and for all, that he was perfect and could match the strongest. He did all he could to bring out Gohan's hidden power so he could prove it.
This guy is different. He won't take them head on. He won't rush in, and likely won't fall for any bait to draw him into the open. He's an assassin. Stealth, and the shadows are his friend. I can see him, if he's smart, keeping his ship/fleet out of range of any scanners (not aware of the ki sensing), and a good distance from earth. Then send scouts or probes to gather information. No hunter stalks his prey without first knowing what they hunt, the dangers they may/will face, and preparing accordingly.
And then there's Gohan. He's so powerful that he can no longer suppress his ki completely. Frieza's son is quite likely to pick up on it, and know there's at least one very powerful warrior on the planet. He won't come down to the surface as all others had. He'll try and lure them to him. Space battles would be VERY different from land battles. Saiyans can't breath in space, Frieza said so in the Frieza saga as he blew up Namek. His race can. So Gohan and the others would likely be lured to space, but they would have to suppress their power in the interest of survival. Because the object wouldn't be to destroy the person, but rather the ship their in. One stray ki blast would do that and everyone dies. Very different battle strategies.
No, this war and its battles will not be fought as all others were. This one will be of shadow and silence. The great strategists know that you don't have to overpower your opponent to defeat them. You can outlast them, take down their allies, poisons, traps, any and all of these are great strategies derived from your own code of honor. The ninja and assassin will not hesitate to poison, whilst the honorable warrior will condemn it and demand man to man open fighting.
Just something to consider. |
