Amazing. I don't even know where to start. Let's start at the end.

The way she revealed herself as the Pigeon was just perfect. The way you wrote how she avoided his eyes, she appeared vulnerable and genuine in front of David for the first time. I can't wait to hear David's reaction on this.

Then there's Spot. You write his character so well, especially his effect on the other characters. And I was very happy to see Jack as the voice of reason (how could anyone expect David to bust Sarah out from the grips of the Sparrow all by himself?) I find Jack's relative silence throughout the series really intriguing.

I cracked up when Race was sleeping right when a war was about to break out. I didn't expect Scotch to be coming for Brooklyn so soon, but I'm looking forward to see how it turns out!

FINALLY! I think we've all known forEVER but its still nice to finally hear it from the bird's mouth. (LOL! Get it, the "bird's mouth"? Like, Teller is a pigeon and David is the "mouth" AH HA! ...I know, clearly I need to quit the stupid joke and get on with a review.)

Poor Brooklyn. However, I love the way you write Spot. He's so IC, not that Jack and Race aren't, who are just as good. And I think I've already mentioned in another review that David rocks.

Okay, sorry, run-on sentence.

Back to Spot: that thing when Scotch starts comin' and Spot's getting all ready for it, I dunno, it was just so well done! It was one of those moments where things feel RIGHT as if they're not just a fanfic, its a real canon thing going on. I love that feeling and I typically can only get it from your fics. You, and this fic, rock. :)

Hmm, good for David. Now he's just gotta work on that escape plan, there. I love the comparisons between trying to help Jack escape from the Refuge and trying to save Sarah here. It seems that David Jacobs is very into the hero scene. Love it, can't wait to read more.

Hmm...as always, I'm loving the whole thing between Teller and David, and I especially love that it came from Teller this time instead of David. But, hey, I know that's not the point of the story here, I just love it, is all. :) I like how this chapter was done, going back to The Lark, but showing us what we didn't know. Love it so far. As always.

Not the welcome I'd wanted at all! Poor Davey. Like he really could have brought Sarah back with him all safe and sound by himself, from the Sparrow's own territory.

I really love your characterization of Spot, especially that last part - you can tell he's furious by his actions.

Oh, David, please stop falling for Teller. It's just going to make it harder for you later. I wish he'd listen to his instincts. But, this was really great, especially when she helps him up after he falls, to set up for the inevitable betrayal. The distinction between friend and foe is blurred so much so that one minute, I hate that she's lying to him, and the next, I'm glad she's helping him.

Can't wait to see what David says to Conlon. It better be good, for his sake!

yeah, I have a feeling Spot may soak Davey if he tells him what he's been up to. Ouch, you've put Davey in a hard situation Stress? What's going to happen next?...

Well, yeah, Teller is *kinda* telling the truth, but COME ON! Can't she at least say she's the Pigeon? ~groans~ Stress, I love you to death, but somtimes you just kill me with suspense. (And then I come back as a ghost to review; haha!)

Okay, so when was that scene with Sarah and Teller in the beginning of "The Lark"? If Sarah knew that Teller was the Pigeon, why didn't she tell Davey? ~head spins~

I had to go back to The Sparrow and The Lark to confirm who the Pigeon was, and I can not believe I forgot about the first chapter of The Lark: why on earth did I not remember the part when the Sparrow calls Teller "Pidge" (aka the Pigeon!)? Apparently, because I have an awfully short term memory. ;) Teller's been doing such a job mixing up truths with lies that I can barely get my head straight and pick them apart!

I'm glad that she opened up a bit in this chapter, too. Although, that whole bit in the beginning about Georgie and the Pigeon and the lying just had me shaking my head. I guess it's like Teller said - the Pigeon has to lie.

There were so many parts I loved in this chapter. I laughed out loud when the two headed in opposite directions. :) That was a great scene. I also liked Teller's genuine reaction to David's question (“So you think it’s a good idea for them to bring my sister into this?”) I think it shows that she honestly does want to help David.

//Forget being a mouse or a cat. At that moment I was a fish caught on a line, Teller’s offer was the bait, and I was hooked.// What a great way to show how tempting Teller's offer was - so cleverly worded!

I was very happy to see this updated today, and now I can't wait for the next chapter! I wonder what the other boys have been up to while David and Teller were in Manhattan...

You don't have to say thank you Stressie, this chapter was enough. I was so happy when I saw it in my inbox. :D And I wasn't disappointed as I read it. Well, not too bad. I kinda wanted to slap Teller at some points for the whole lying thing, especially about the Pigeon, since we all know its her. Poor Davey. :( But I did get a kick out of the fact that Teller didn't know about Davey meeting the Sparrow, Georgie and such. I thought it brought her down a peg or two. ;)

This is getting to be interesting... well, not that it wasn't interesting before, but, you know... it's juicier, I guess. With the whole David/Teller, David/Sparrow, and Teller/Pigeon 'relationships'. I can't wait to read the next chapter!

That Teller... is she it? Is she the Pigeon? Could the answer really be that aggravatingly simple, that David's task is standing right in front of him? Although, I guess the difficult part, assuming Teller is, would be handing her over to the Sparrow. And if it comes down to that, then I really don't envy David for the decisions he'll have to make later on. It would make sense if she were, especially considering Teller's conversation with Meggie before. But that also means that she's lying to him now, about Georgie, which means I still can't decide whether I can trust everything she says.

I kind of wish David would just head to Brooklyn, because somehow that borough is tangled up in all of this and I want answers!

With every chapter, I'm in awe of how you write David. Just like in "Pick Your Poison," the way you can get into the character's head is amazing. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next chapter!

it has taklen me a while to get this far in your stories, lacking time, but for a while now i've been chipping away at your 'birdie' stories. much applause, they are wonderful reading.
