Oh this one is utterly beautiful! Well kinda sad because not much Ron here (pout...), but never mind that- it was wonderful nontheless!
The whole Helena/Ernie thing is sort of blurry and confusing, only starting to 'unclear' a bit now... Well, as for the memories... what can I say? They were so cute and lovely, I liked them so much... just bravo!
Oh, just keep on your good working and don't stop amazing us; I cannot wait for the next one... :D

So, does Ernie think of himself or want to be Helena's boyfriend - was that what he was trying to say to Hermione in this chapter? Also, the way they talk about fighting sounds like it would trigger Hermione to think about Ron.

I don't completely understand why Ron laughed after Hermione said she has feelings for him, unless it was the formal way she said it. Then again, they are only acting like they are going out a little.

You know, I think the angst in the story really adds a special element to the romantic part of the story. So the fluff will better when it happens. :)

I love how this is falling into place. Nice foreshadowings, by the way. You mask them well, so readers don't exactly see what they mean until later.

I just read 15 chapters in three hours. WOW. I love your story and its safe to say im hooked. I'm still slightly confused as to what exactly is going on but I definetly can't wait for the next chapter. I do hope that Ron and Hermione's current relationship progresses. They have not even shared a kiss yet. I mean screw a relationship.. for now. But an unscheduled kiss would be SO sexy. Also, i've decided i love Lance and his feelings for Hermione. I also love the jealousy he creates for Ron. I hope he appears more in the story. Otherwise you're doing an excellent job and I can't wait till the next chapter.

I have to confess that I really admired the manner inwhich you introduced Ron 'punishing' himself. I had a very close family member who suffered from the same type of condition, eventually things became so intense that she went further then she had never done before and she moved on from this life. It was a painful thing to accept and in alot of ways I found myself playing 'Hermione's Role' at Shell Cottage, a silent gaurdian and sentry, anxious yet at the same time cautious to ever reveal my own thoughts and feelings in the fear that it might be misinterpreted. From my experience I can purhaps offer a piece of insight and wisdom, not all self harms and suicidial expession are ever intentional. Nearly 95-percent of all suicides are all private affairs, the victims never advertise what they plan to do, infact they go out of their way to present the illusion that there is nothing ever wrong with them. It is for this reason why family and close friends are always caught by surprise when it happens. The same goes for self-harmers, they never advertise the various inflictions to themselves they usually hide these injuries in places people do not generally observe. To say that Ron is 'punishing' himself might be a pretty narrow perspective to what is inflicting him, if he was about punishing himself I think his choice of injuries would be more ritualistic. Personally, I think the possibility exists that what Ron is doing is seeking attention. Now before I continue with this line of thought, I do not mean this in a grandiose way. I mean that he is inflicting harms upon himself in the hopes that Hermione might notice and pay attention, might even express some sympathy. In the 'dream sequence' it is clear that Hermione's demenour to Ron's contribution and care for her varied between gratefulness and resentment. It would not be surprising for Ron's own feelings during this time to be in flux, here is someone he cares about very much and she is constantly running hot and cold. One moment she is civil and the next she is spiteful. Ron hurting himself could be a simple cry-out to see and gauge if she cared or even if she was paying attention to him. Instead however all he was recieving was cool silence and a 'wait and see attitude'. Maybe that is why he has asked Hermione to help out with Helena, he is trying to gauge her and to see if she still cares for him.

Well, I guess you've guessed what I think of this chapter... Where should I start from?
Firstly, Hermione's confusion about what to do with Ron is brilliant and well-put, while Ron's current behaviour- which doesn't help at all to her situation- is so understandable...
The memory is amazing, and I'm rather glad that Ron seemed to have such a helpless, more vulnerable side in his character; he hadn't just forgot about the accident, as it seems, and that makes him such a 'real' character.
I also like Hermione's jealousy, it's so cute and Ron's somewhat obliviousness to the fact is rather frustating, yet adorable and understandable, as well. I guess that it's the fact that he'd experienced too much to just let himself have his hopes up (just my humble opinion, pal... :))
I hope there are more memories in the next one, which I hope you'll update soon- don't stress yourself, though!
