SaintDogStreet 2009-12-02 . chapter 6This is such an awesome series. I love it. You rock. |
Jackie May 2009-08-29 . chapter 6A wonderful story. I just loved the twist with Laurie at the end. I liked that she came back so powerful and finished what she had tried to do at the end of the GN. (plus I just love imagining what she'd look like all 'jon-esqu'. She'd be so beautiful!) And of course Dan and Rorschach, such a perfect ending for them. I'm all happy now. :) I know this is the funniest little detail to get a 'squee' over, but the little mention of Dan noticing for the first time Ror's gray hairs just gave me a little happy sigh. Its just such a sweet little detail, something tender and intimate and indicative of their humanity. Thank you again for this. |
Mariagoner 2009-08-22 . chapter 6This was a truly wonderful ending. Thank you for writing a series that entertained me for hours! |
Mariagoner 2009-08-22 . chapter 5Laurie coming back truly astounded me-- and Dan turning down he offer to stay with Rorschach practically made tears rise into my eyes. It's absolutely wonderful, and the culmination of their entire relationship right there. |
Mariagoner 2009-08-22 . chapter 3Leslie is *fascinating,* and I love her verve and her pained resolve and wit, even while facing her doom. She's a wonderful creation and it's truly interesting to see her with Dan! Love that half-second glimpse of her past with Adrian as well... |
Mariagoner 2009-08-22 . chapter 2>>Home, he thinks, his ruined city and its haunted people and everything he fled. It deserves his apology more than Rorschach does, and he pleads with it silently: I had to leave. Things were falling apart. And like his partner, who pulls the mask down and hunches his shoulders as if bracing for a blow, the city offers him no answer.
The poetry in this line honestly killed me. I want Dan to be happy *so much* it actually hurts. Poor Dan. Whither his content ending? |
Mariagoner 2009-08-22 . chapter 1This is a wonderful beginning and the tension in the story gripped me from the first. It looks like the start of an epic and I can't wait to see how it develops along. I'm looking forward to this! |
Mistress-of-Misery 2009-05-26 . chapter 6Let me get the fangirling out of my system first:
OMG LDSFJSF;AD THIS STORY NEEDS MORE REVIEWS. D8
*ahem*
Interesting way to end it. Perhaps the world is better off without Veidt. Maybe it'll burn just the same, but at least some happiness still exists, despite everything. One can hope...
And now...I have no idea what to say, because you have effectively rendered me speechless. Other people more eloquent than I have probably already lauded your praises, so I can say nothing but thank you for your amazing writing. I hope to read more of it in the future. |
Kittendragon 2009-04-21 . chapter 6I really enjoyed this series. Well done. I'd like to see more from "Watchmen", if you have any. |
jiyensa 2009-03-29 . chapter 6 One of the best fan fictions I have ever read. Beautiful. Painful. Poetic. Believable. Hopeful, even. Thank you for writing it. |
SpyofSorrow 2009-03-29 . chapter 6 Oh god I loved this story! I think you did brilliant! Great writing too, and of course loved loved loved the moments between Dan and Rorschach. *melts* |
Vivica Todd 2009-03-29 . chapter 5 ... forgive me. I have to let the fangirlishness out before I get serious about this review.
Here goes: OMFG THESE STORIES THEY ARE MY DRUG SOME OF THE BEST WRITING DON'T KNOW HOW YOU DO IT MUST FIGURE OUT LOVE YOU FDVKDFK -coos-
There.
Now, about the actual story: I remember looking at the first chapter EVER and thinking that it might not turn out to be that good. I have a prejudice against short first chapters, though I write them myself. But I'm so glad I kept this on watch, because LOOK at it.
Simply LOOK at it. The most believable Rorschach/Nite Owl story I've seen, and I'm just delving into the fandom a bit...
It's like reading the actual comic, if Moore intended them to get together. There's laughs, there's 'OMFG NO', there's tears, there's even a few '...aww. |
Vaudeville 2009-03-29 . chapter 2I realized... I don't think I've left any reviews for your stories, but I really should have. I read them religiously. I'm keeping up, satisfied each time you come out with another. I think I read that you are only doing a trilogy with this, but I think you ought to write more. You have possibly the move in character representation of Dan and Rorschach's relationship, and I wanna see more of it, even if he never changes. Even if it kills Dan. Even if it doesn't work out at all. I want more. Sorry I never commented earlier. =) I like it. |
Patchworkdove/Heather 2009-03-26 . chapter 3 I have just finished reading your currently-a-trilogy story arc, and although I was put-off by the 'fix-it fic' remark on the first story as being indicative of impending OOC-ness and sickeningly smothering levels of fluff, I have been thoroughly and impressively surprised. There is a fantastic measure of darkness and human imperfection, which is a must in my opinion where this pairing is concerned, and both Dan and Walter are wonderfully written. Dan is still well-meaning but a little messed-up and although the subject of Walter's upbringing is siezed upon, he hasn't become some whimpering pathetic puppy; he's still the savage bites-the-hand-that-feeds rotwieler that he should be.
Thoroughly impressed and eagerly awaiting further chapters. |
Anonymous 2009-03-25 . chapter 3 I've been glued to this series four a couple of days now--I apologize for not reviewing earlier! Your writing is fantastic, and I love how spot-on the characterization is, especially given the subject matter. Most Rorschach/Nite Owl slash tends to drift into OOC territory out of necessity; as much as I like reading it (well... usually), I'm constantly reminded that it would never, ever actually happen in the canon universe. You've convinced me otherwise. Realistic, brutal, and beautiful. |
