Random Reviewer 2009-11-17 . chapter 1 You are a very talented writer. And that's the understatement of the year.
A very unusual pairing - well, to me anyway.
You capture Sasuke's personality perfectly.
"...and Sasuke is yet to decide if he feels at all."
"Sasuke does not know how to love, only to destroy. He hovers somewhere between malevolence and silently guarding."
"...But sometimes he[Kiba] suspects that the other man[Sasuke] had not entirely forgotten what it was to love."
The story radiated the fact that wealth doesn't always make you happy.
Sasuke - the man who lost his soul in exchange for all his wealth and is struggling to feel
Sakura - the caged bird suffocated by unspoken - and spoken - rules of how to act, how to behave, how to feel
Kiba - the con man who is struggling not to feel, to hold on to his belief that the wealthy are all scum
And in the end, I was in the borderline of starting to cry and trying not to - I ended up with one tear streaming down my cheek before I stopped myself from sobbing.
And in the end, the intimate, but at the same time not, moment that Sasuke and Sakura have is heartbreaking.
It worked its way to my heart slowly that I didn't realise until the end that maybe just maybe Sasuke loved her in his own way but never acknowledged it. And maybe just maybe Sakura loved him in her own way too.
But Sasuke is just Sasuke and he doesn't know how to love, only to destroy. And, in trying to love, he destroyed his heart and hers[Sakura's].
And Sakura is just Sakura and she does not know whether it is love or hate she feels for him. But, really, she cannot hate this man so much if she did not love him first and in the end it was love.
But they realized all this too late and Sasuke is just Sasuke and Sakura is just Sakura and Kiba made them realize all the same.
So in the end, Sasuke is all alone, high above everyone in all his wealth but lonely all the same.
And Kiba and Sakura struggle together to free themselves of all the unspoken rules of society and how to act, how to feel.
For life is rarely perfect, and some things are just destiny, and we all pay the price of trying to live how we want to live.
