Hmm...while I doubt River meant it that way, her reference to the box being a metaphor and it having beautiful external carvings but nothing inside seems a tad catty if she was trying to make a point to Inara about the Companion's vocation/life. Inara needs to come to some conclusions about the true impact of being a Companion of course...but I guess I have a slight issue with River's remarks appearing harsher than they are in reality.
