2009-09-20 . chapter 4
This was so raw and jagged and - perfect, really, for the darker aspects of Naruto canon. I especially liked the part about Kakashi's past darkness, the blood on the mask and the baying of the hounds. Gorgeous.

yo,

nice fic. I think you represented Gaara's character well, very credible. Love the ending. I wonder if you plan a sequel for this one. It would like to read form your point, how all eyes started to notice Gaara and make him the center of all their attention.

read later

Another great story. ^_^
This one was very sad, it seemed... but with sweet undertones. I liked how Kakashi was both a hard-** and a sentimental fool.
I can't decide which I liked better.
This, or the Kankuro/Naruto you wrote.

. . . Oh my gosh. This is a realistic KakashixGaara. 0.o And it works! I love it! The way you related them to each other, and the awkwardness, and the way they ended up having sex.

This was unbelievable. I totally loved it. The characterisation was... i don't know, PERFECT. I loved your Gaara and your Kakashi... you made this actualy work! So well!

2009-06-03 . chapter 4
I like the contrast here, comparing the open, emotional Gaara with his usual stoic self. It's very telling. He's at an in-between stage, a Jounin on his way to becoming Kazekage. Still learning. Still uncertain about some things.

I hadn't realized before that Gaara and Kakashi were so similar, but you made it pretty clear, didn't you? I like Kakashi's insights throughout the fic, and especially in this chapter. From here, it's easy to see that you're leading to a definitive conclusion; that you had a goal in mind from the beginning of the story, and you're about to reach it. "I promise," Kakashi says. A simple, but very impacting sentence.

I have to say that I love your writing style, and that you include all the little details that are missing from so many other fics. From the little insights, to the Sand, to the siblings' developing relationship, to others' casual avoidance of Gaara... your characterization is spot on! Finally, the epilogue ties it all together beautifully. It resolves the pre-timeskip Gaara with his post-timeskip self, and does a far better job of it than any other fic I've read.

This story had a beginning, a middle, and a wholly satisfying end. There's a lot to be said for that.

2009-06-03 . chapter 3
Who else would sleep with Gaara of the Desert? That's a good, loaded question. Another good question is: is Kakashi brave enough to top and risk losing his manly bits to the Sand? The answer to that is, apparently, "no." Good call, Kakashi. Good call.

I take back what I said in my first review. Drunk Gaara is 'sexy.' Sick Kakashi is equally so, even if he angsts (and thinks) more than is healthy. Don't discourage the seductive purr! Agh.

Again, I applaud your characterization, bringing a depth to the story beyond sex, tossing in deep-seated emotional issues and meddlesome shinobi instincts. My only complaint is about (what I think is) your description of Gaara's seal. On his foot, yes? I did a double-take at Shukaku's name, and it took me a moment to figure out what you meant. Understandably, this ruined the flow for me a bit... but you made it up very quickly. No hard feelings!

Overall, a very satisfying chapter.

2009-06-03 . chapter 2
For a transition chapter, this was downright 'evil.' I can just imagine waiting for an update to that cliffhanger, cursing your name and ancestors...! Luckily I didn't have to, and I got to enjoy it the whole way through. Heh. Silly Kakashi, getting into situations like this...

I won't expound any further on the writing or characterization. I'd hate to beat a dead horse. Instead, I'll say that this was a very tender chapter. I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort, which drunk, emotional Gaara and thoughtful, nostalgic Kakashi were more than willing to supply. And the yumminess! Jeez, Kakashi's gentle ministrations are making me envious!

Very, very yummy. The last paragraph literally made me shiver.

2009-06-03 . chapter 4
This is an honest-to-God well written fanfic! I've read through it already, but I thought I'd review each chapter individually... otherwise, I may well skip something important.

First off, I can tell you put a great deal of care into this story. You had me hooked from the first page. A well-written introduction, laying things out neatly; a believable set-up; good characterization on all levels, with a good blend of humor and seriousness. The style didn't seem awkward or clunky, instead flowing nicely and pulling me right along with it.

The line about the gourd made me laugh. Drunk Gaara was downright amusing. Kakashi's insights seemed fair, and overall, you gave a real depth to the characters. I can really appreciate that. Kudos to you!

2009-06-02 . chapter 4
The ending of this terrific story definately DIDN'T dissapoint! I'm amazed at how well you brought everything together and made it about more than sex, or even love. I feel like Gaara really found himself at the end here and I also get the feeling he has helped Kakashi break down barriers of his own too. This was just so perfect and I was so happy to see an update, but it's a shame this had to end so soon. Of course though, I couldn't imagine this fic any other way.

Congrats on a magnificant and very memorable fic that I will re-read for years to come! ;P

This chapter was amazing, just like the other chapters. I liked the end with Gaara coming to an understanding of what it takes to be the Kazekage. The part with Kakashi saying that he and Gaara are the same really got me thinking, it's such an intriguing idea. Thanks for sharing!

This is such a terrific, emotional fic! I have to admit, I almost didn't read it because of the ages involved, but I am so glad I did. I think you have Kakashi perfectly IC for this--I could see him doing something like this, for exactly these reasons, very easily. And poor, poor Gaara! He needed this human connection so badly.

All in all, very well done, beautifully written.

I absolutely adored how you portrayed Kakashi and Gaara after the 'event' and how you had Kakashi explain the proper ettiquette...heh
But better still was when you laid out the eye-opening revelation that Kakashi and Gaara were alike...
that sent chills up my spine...
And of course - you reiterated Kakashi's advice to Gaara at the end - using it to explain just why Gaara decided to strive for being Kazekage in the first place...
The entire chapter was artfully done - and although I am sad to see the story end, you tied everything up in to a neat package-leaving me, as the reader, satisfied.
Well done!
