It's been awhile I know, but damn this was good. You've got such a good touch with metaphors and experimentalism. The "match" scene was wonderful, and the "artifical light" comment was so spot on that I actually said "damn that's good" outloud. I don't normally do that with any author be it Hemingway or Palahniuk.
