A Canary Mad 2009-07-12 . chapter 1I absolutely love this fic. It's so horribly sweet. Thank you for writing an absolutely fantastic fic! I really enjoyed reading it! |
Vincent von Dreyfus 2009-06-29 . chapter 1Aw, bravo! That was such an up-lifting story! I loved how instead of just talking about Vera and her difficulties with life alone, you brought in other characters as well and talked about how they dealt with life. Apollo dancing with Vera was unbelievably sweet, I thought, and Trucy and Klavier's mischief on the dance floor was memorable to say the least. Nice of you to bring in Phoenix's buddies too; I hardly expected to see Larry and Edgeworth, yet they brought their own colors to Vera's coping as well. And could that hotel be the Gatewater, by chance? Maya was a bit isolated; she was just there, and then gone, but it didn't hurt the story so I suppose it was alright.
I also loved how Drew was portrayed. Wherever I go I see people hating Drew with a passion, even though he was my favorite character from Apollo Justice, so it's nice to see him put in a positive light.
Almost forgot; my favorite scene was definitely the second one in the grocery store, followed by Vera standing on stage with Trucy. Very positive and enticing to read.
Ending was probably the best ending I've ever read! Kind of made everything tie together, while at the same time bringing the hope of a new day and progress on getting rid of that nasty old agoraphobia. Bravo.
All in all, this was a very sweet and uplifting story about how our friends can benefit us in more ways than one. Almost makes me want to get out with some friends and just live! |
Benjamin 2009-06-13 . chapter 1 Excellent story. I enjoyed it very much, and I thought you captured Vera in a particularly good light. When I played the games, I always thought of her as a girl suffering from a social disorder rather than just a really shy individual, and you really bring out the struggle she has with herself as she tries to deal with the real world and interact with others on her own terms and not just how she interacts through the viewpoints of others.
My one suggestion might be to break it up into chapters to facilitate easier reading, but that's a minor quibble. I especially enjoyed the rivalry between Apollo and Klavier that she seemed completely unaware of.
Once again, great work. |
Nuclear Burp 2009-06-09 . chapter 1This story is extremely, extremely... EXTREMELY good. The characterisations are incredible, the story and methedology is well progressed, the writing style is smooth and engrossing and-and-and-and wow.
Not only that, but you took a minor character with a little history and turned her into a full-fledged individual (Who, for some reason, rather reminds me of an Autistic girl I once knew.) with her own hopes, dreams and coming-of-emotional-age.
I highly wish there was a continuation. I feel honoured to have read this.

jarell88 2009-06-02 . chapter 1Wow. This is an excellent piece of work. Normally i don't bother logging in to review stuff, but this was fantastic.
I like the unique angle you took. We all knew that Vera was going to try to be less of a recluse, but most of us never gave a second thought to the actual process. After all, when you think about it, having been indoors, sheltered, and hidden for most of her life, not having any exposure to the outside world besides those who ultimately wished to do her harm... that's not going to be an easy cycle to break out of.
That being said... her personality, her behavior, her thoughts, and the process of rehabitilation... they are perfect. All of this sounds like exactly what would happen. Her own attempts to break the cycle on her own, even if they initially failed, only showed her powerful inner strength, that she was willing to try at all. And the gradual recovery, with her brief spikes and relaspes into her reclusive shell, only served to make the story more real, and even induce a few pangs of affectionate disappointment in this reader. What it all led to, though, her eventual blossoming, helped along by Apollo, Trucy, Gavin, and Phoenix... made this fiction truly a piece of art worthy of comparison to Vera's own works.
And as an extra note, i like the way you camoed Maya, Pearl, Edgeworth, and even sneaked in a bit of KlavierxEma. Those just made me smile a bit when they came up.
I really hope you do more stories of this type. It would be awesome. |
PurpleKyu 2009-05-18 . chapter 1Wow. Just wow. Can I say that again? Wow. This was absolutely a work of art. =] I LOVE YOUR STYLE. Reading this just gave me a warm feeling in my chest. |
 theatrejunkie 2009-04-09 . chapter 1 VERA!
This is one of the best stories I have ever read.
I love Vera's development from running in fear to willingly participate in a magic show to riding on a moshpit.
Vera and Machi are my two favorite AJ defendants.

kichithewolf 2009-04-03 . chapter 1That was great. It's the first fic I've read that was centered around Vera, and I loved it. You really captured her personality well, and the appearance of old characters made it perfect. |
