seafaringwriter1657 2009-07-16 . chapter 15I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Will and Djaq were my favorite characters and the third series was strange without them. |
noz4a2 2009-06-17 . chapter 15Great story, too bad it had tragic ending for a few characters, but the main thing is that W&D get to go back home where they belong. Always enjoy your stories and look forward to more. I hope that you will consider doing more in the future, you are a gifted writer. |
TheMidnightViolet 2009-06-16 . chapter 15Wow. I have to admit that that final chapter was amazing. Bassam finally understands that Djaq is no longer Saffiyah, and both Will and Djaq are coming home. Hopefully someone will come and put flowers and stones on Marian's grave. I just have one question left...will there be a sequel? |
Ravenya03 2009-06-15 . chapter 15Aw, it's always sad when a fic comes to its end. I don't want to leave Will and Djaq.
Very poignant in that they visit Marian's grave and feel guilty at the thought of leaving her in an anonymous grave, in a foreign country (in fact, one of the slight consolations I had that they stayed in the Holy Land was that at least there would be the sense that Marian wouldn't be alone).
Though dear god, I'm dreading what they'll find when they get back to England.
But thank you for this fic. Spending time with Will and Djaq was infinitely more fun that watching the show! |
rohwyn 2009-06-14 . chapter 15I always struggle with leaving reviews for a final chapter, because I'm usually so sad the story is over.
This was a very nice glimpse into Will and Djaq's post-S2 life. I find their individual struggles (and their struggles as a couple) very credible and in-character.
I'm glad they've made their way back to each other and made their way back to England. I just hope the ship back has a tiny closet on board. ;)
I do hope you have other W/D fics in the pipeline! |
 islay12 2009-06-12 . chapter 15Yay! They're going home! |
Kate's Master 2009-06-12 . chapter 15NOW what am I meant to use to get my Will/Djaq fix for the rest of the series? They've just published the cast list for part one of the finale, and there's no sign of them on it - my hopes of a sudden reappearence are dwindling fast...
Brilliant story, very well written, excellent plot with everything needed to keep the reader interested. I've said it before, but I do love your charecterisation of Will and Djaq. Was just too short! I wish we could of had a scene when they get home, and see everyone again...though I suppose it's looking quite likely that, canon-wise at least, Robin will be killed off before they get chance to see him again.
I loved the bit at the end, when Will was thinking about leaving Marian behind all alone. It's something that strikes me every now and again, and it's a very desolate thought.
Anyway. Keep writting! I may not always review, but I promise I'm here reading.

cflat 2009-06-12 . chapter 15Sad to see this end! But it was a nice conclusion. It would be really nice if you'd do a sequel. I think it would be interesting to see Will and Djaq in season 3 (which, in my opinion, has not been the greatest). It would be interesting to see if they got along alright with the new members of the gang. |
rohwyn 2009-06-09 . chapter 14Wow, that was really something. I think I may have teared up a little at the end.
In some ways, this chapter was more wrenching than the one before it because Djaq is just in such turmoil here. It's so sad that she feels she can't be close to Will, because that means she will lose him as well. I think the screaming fit was a good idea; she probably just really needed an outlet for all her sadness and frustration.
I really enjoyed reading the dream sequence. It was very powerful to have Gabrielle speak to Djaq from beyond the grave and finally make her see the truth. (Veris, Philomena indeed).
I'm sad to hear there is only one more chapter of this, so I'm not sure I'm looking forward to an update as much as I usually do. I hope you'll return your talents to Will/Djaq soon. |
The Fair Ophelia 2009-06-07 . chapter 13I knew, as soon as you said 'tragedy', that the baby would die. But in a way I'm glad Gabrielle died, too. Nobody should have their husband and their baby die all in one go. It would be too much for anyone to bare. So her dying was a mercy, in a way. How sad. |
 Wenrom31 2009-06-07 . chapter 13Well I *was* in a good mood. LOL
I found the shift in Will's thinking very interesting in this chapter. Not only in the way that, after what happened to Gabrielle, he stopped resenting that they'd stayed in Acre and instead threw himself into caring for her child. But also the way that he seemed to have a completely different take on pregnancy and childbirth than he did a few chapters previous.
A few chapters back, he was thinking that childbirth was one of the most sickening things he'd ever come close to witnessing and he hated even the idea of it, and now, with Gabrielle, all he feels is concern. It makes sense and shows that he sometimes still has a bit of maturing to do, I guess.
And how horrible for Djaq to work reound the clock to save her former friend and the child, only to lose them both anyway. She must be feeling so helpless and like a bit of a failure. Poor Djaq. I know that she usually accepts that such things happen, but this must have been particularly hard on her.
Will and Djaq not communicating was the worst part of the chapter for me. I'm glad that their grief succeeded in at least bringing them back together.
Looking forward to seeing how you get them home! |
Sophie.K.L 2009-06-07 . chapter 1I really really liked this. You added that little bit of extra detail that most fan fictions don't have and that made it believable.
I hope all the chapters are as long, I also liked the femanine take you put on djaq.
very well done, can't wait to read the rest of it now |
rohwyn 2009-06-06 . chapter 13For some reason, as soon as I read the chapter title, I had a sense that something really bad was going to happen here. What happened to Gabrielle and her child is tragic, but I think (sadly) quite common in that era of time, given the constraints of technology and medicine.
And while the Gabrielle bit was rather dark and depressing, I was even more sad about the growing rift between Will and Djaq. I hope they find their way back to each other (and to England) soon, now that one of the ties Djaq still had to her original home has now been severed forever.
This was an excellent chapter, in spite of the depressing content. Do update soon. |
Ravenya03 2009-06-06 . chapter 13Well, just because it was depressing, doesn't mean it wasn't good!
It was interesting in a way to note that despite the fact they're in the middle of a war, there are other ways for an individual to die that I'm sure Will and Djaq didn't even consider.
I feel awful for Gabrielle, particularly since it was such a painful, prolonged death - though for a second there, I thought that Will and Djaq were going to find themselves as surrogate parents!
I hope W/D find a way back to each other soon! |
cflat 2009-06-05 . chapter 13Yeah, I agree, it was a rather depressing chapter. First you have Will and Gabrielle talking about being caged, and then you have Gabrielle dying in childbirth, with the baby following her mother soon. It was a great chapter, but also depressing.
Can't wait for the next chapter. |
