In The Black Cauldron I've personally always seen Taran too young for this stuff, however the slash obsessor in me must admit this is rather cute(if I picture him older). Lol, it would never have happened but I liked how Gwydion cut him off during his characteristic outburst of wanting to tag along into the heat of battle.

But Gwydion's eyes are flecked with green not gold.

And just for future reference, please don't bash Eilonwy in order to excuse Taran's uncanon deviation in romantic interests. I can read slash here just as long as you don't take a crack at a character with the OOC scornfullness of another.
