Hm. FF keeps logging me out . . . tsk. But yes, I have stumbled across an update email. And I only had to go back 4 pages and forward 2 in my inbox to get to it! (If that makes no sense . . . . um, yeah. I'm not sure it does either, but in my head, there is a SYSTEM, and damnit it will work! :P

Aw, poor Rod. Age difference problems kicking in at last! I like age differences in fictional relationships, they provide instant and messy problems, so they're fun to write. (Sadist. Sadist. Sadist. Oh shut up .. . . )

Anyway, here I'm sensing uneasiness, because they're both at different places in life with different needs and expectations. But at the same time, I can't help but like Rod a little for it, because he actually CARES that Andromeda's so innocent and he may not deserve her - he's not like my Lucius, who really doesn't even consider that he can't have or doesn't deserve what he wants. Rod is actually being quite selfless, and I suppose it's his non-Slytherin traits coming through, and will probably make for more angst in the end, but all the same . . . it is rather sweet.

Hehe. Rod has a favourite house elf! *waves hello to Jolly again* His attitudes to house-elves, are, at the moment, the clearest indication that he's different to most pureblood teenagers, which I'm assuming is why it's the title . . . . because it hints at greater differences?

What's up with Rabastan? His behaviour is just weird, and I can't tell if it's DE business or just plain cheating . . . either way, he's treating Bella like trash and it's not too hard to see how she'll end up prefering Rodolphus, at the moment. I THINK Rabastan's promised to bring her to the Dark Lord, but then again, she could just be needy and a bit deranged because she suspects him of cheating. I'm honestly not sure.

Bella . . . . is . . . . I don't know. To be honest, I still haven't warmed to her. I like Rod, and I like Andromeda, but Rabastan I can't stand and Bella I just don't feel for. She comes across as clingy, controlling, and a bit pathetic, with the drinking and the need to prove herself by sleeping around, or encouraging her sister to sleep around . . . I'm curious to find out the reason for it, because hopefully it'll give me some kind of connection to her - at the moment she's vulnerable but in every other aspect she so personifies the "spoiled teenager" thing Rod hates that I just can't feel for her. She's just a drama queen and I tend to wish she would go away and leave Andy and Rod to it when she appears . . .. Lol. See, Rod and Andy I HAVE connected with, and I want them to be happy so much that I'm probably just hissing at Bella because I know she'll spoil it. What can I say? There is some part of me that is just a hopeless romantic and wants to see love work somehow.

Ah, but we do get to learn Rab's secret! Interesting . . . .

I don't mind that there was no Andromeda in this chapter. I think in every fic you need some time where your main focus is just on a specific character for a while, so that you can get to know them and their problems / secrets etc . . . so it's fine. And we still have Rod, so no complaints here!

I love it! Very in character through out and all the alterations that you made since I last read this were very effective and added well to the chapter.
Loved this part:
"“You can tell me, Lestrange. I’m the reason you’re sleeping together after all, you owe me some details.”

I strive unsuccessfully to make sense of that. “You’re the reason we’re… we’re sleeping together?” That’s news to me."

I adore how Bellatrix feels that she has a right to know as to what Rodolphus and Andromeda in their relationship, and I love Rodolphus's reaction to that..
