The fact that Kira and L became the presonification of justice is win.

This was... quite possibly, one of the most epic little ficlets I've read yet. I love American Gods, since Neil Gaiman is downright amazing, and so seeing it referenced, and even better, turning Light and L into gods through the power of belief, seems so wonderful. i love the idea of their neverending battle as gods, playing out across the scope of the world. And I adore your use of newspaper headlines as little references to other series and concepts, as well as the way it shows who was victorious over who in each battle. This made me unbelievably happy and is now, quite possibly, one of my favorite Deathnote one-shots ever. I would be beyond ecstatic were it to become a two-shot.
And yes, I shall be looking into some of the references you made, most especially Monster, which has had my interest for a while. This was sort of the straw that pushed me into wanting to take the leap and read it.
So yeah! Thanks heaps for posting this. And I'll continue to worship those gods of justice :D
