2009-11-21 . chapter 1
Your bad grammar kept the me reading the series, while the plot came into itself. I found myself wondering how your story was going to end.

Your writing is truly that of internet legend, and is so horribly awesome that it gained the attention of thousands.

Those who bash this and hurrdurr about spelling just how to put this to you guys...you don't have the required knowledge to understand this.

You have to do deep research into internet culture and video gaming culture.

Don't listen to all the haters, they're just jealous that they don't possess the same writing talent as you. This story served it's purposes; entertainment and suspense. I laughed, I cried, and I was left on the edge of my seat. You also did some great work with the characterization with John, he became a very likable fellow at the end. I found the struggle between John and Gordon Freeman to be quite suspenseful, at least we all know that Gordon died happy. I also like that John made sure that his son Henry and the other humans left the area to put them out of harms way, truly a selfless and heroic act. You also did a great job at making John seem like a very real person, a good example of this is when John discovers that the combine killed his wife, I can just sense his anger and despair. You also made a great use of similes, for example: "I loved wife like sun raise..." I find things like this to grab me more into the story, and makes me more engaged in what's going to happen next. This story had some great action moments too. I like that you did more with the fighting than just have John killing combines, you also had a full scale war taking place. I find this to be more interesting, as it gives you a glimpse of what the average man has to withstand if he wants to make a difference. I think this symbolizes well with society today. If you want to make a difference in this world, you must stand up and be a little rebellious at times; I've accepted this as one of the main themes/lessons of the story. I also enjoy that you go into description of how some of the people die, it really immerses you more into the battle, I can imagine being right beside that poor man who got all of his limbs blown off. Later on, when it came to the end of the story, I laterally shed a few tears. The fact that you brought us so close to John through the story, and taught us so much about his character simply through his actions, and then take him away from us, is truly something that can bring any man to tears. Some could argue that John's actions at the end of the story were selfish, as he went off and got himself killed for no apparent reason, leaving his son fatherless. However, I disagree with this idea. I believe that John wasn't simply killing off combine out of anger, and that he was also doing it for a cause to help others. If you remember correctly, John could still see the group of surviving humans from the tower, meaning that the tower was within close distance to the humans, if John didn't push a full assault on all of the combine inside of the tower, then the combine very well could have pushed forward to the survivors and proceed to kill them all. John was in fact making a sacrifice for the people at the end, hence why he earned a monument in his name. John Freeman is legend, and this story is an instant classic in my opinion. Any story that could have me theorize this much, is a worthy read, my friend. I truly hope you continue to write stories, as long if you don't lose your touch of creativity, that is. Keep up the fantastic work, good sir.

A Grateful Humen
2009-11-10 . chapter 1
The sacrifice of John Freeman is one that we should all take to heart. His selflessness and drive are enough to tug at the heartstrings of even a cold cynic like me.

You are a true hero to all humens, John. To all humens, indeed.

This is the greatest story of all time. The symbolism seen in each of your stories is obvious, yet so many people miss it. We have John Freeman, an everyday man thrust into an epic war. There's Gordon Freeman, a hero who has fallen from grace, yet dies redeemed. Henry Freeman, who is beginning to learn that he must live life without his great father someday. The fact that nobody notices this makes me sad.

Keep writing, my good man. Keep writing.

You should do another one of these, to see how far you can go at failing while still being awesome. You picked the right fandom to troll in - it gives the GModders and YouTubians something to do :P
And you're a far superior writer to the likes of Stephenie Meyer - we enjoy this because it's so funnily bad, not because we're deluded enough to think it's good :P

John Freeman
2009-09-04 . chapter 1
Me and Gorden Freeman loved the fanfic and others. I am great saver of humens and Gorden Freeman loved me for this. I am glad Henry Freeman has become President and humens and animals and earth has peace. Combines are evil and killed many humens but I saved everyone from Combines. If I have words to say, it is to save Henry Freeman and humens and me and Gorden Freeman and motorcycle from evil fanfics.
