Oh wow. I can't believe I haven't read this yet.
This is beautiful. Every single word is where is belongs. I've loved Kutner and this IS him, the way I've seen him. There's always been that little sadness and also a bit of mischief in him and a sort of wonder at the world.

I've been thoroughly desperate for a Kutner character fic since last week and I feel that yours is the first fic I've seen that really explains his actions through extrapolating from what we've seen of his character.

I adore the imagery here, it's wonderfully poetical and illustrative - something I consider to be a bit of a trademark in your writing. :P

The tone, too, is beautifully contemplative and I like how you painted a backstory of sorts for Kutner filled with the little details that make a character truly *human* for the audience.

I feel, too, that you've chosen each word choice in each line very carefully and there's a lovely sense of unemotional loss to it all - that he feels that all these things were always just out of his reach and he envied others for being able to take and covet them in a way he couldn't.

The first and last lines are utterly perfect too - very truthful and very ethereal. *bows to you*

This piece is well-reasoned, beautiful in imagery and tone and, most of all, makes *sense*. It *fits* in a way that Kutner's suicide as it was portrayed on the show *didn't* and that is why I love you so much for writing it.
