mom calling 2009-08-02 . chapter 8Oh jeez, I hate stuff like this. These fictional people have become very real to me, and it's so hard to think that they might have to still go thru heartache. I know life happens, but it shouldn't for hour ff7 friends...I imagine that once this idea hit you, you had to run with it, and you did a fine job of it... thx mc |
Mr. Ite 2009-06-24 . chapter 1Another incredible work -- you are becoming one of my favourite authors in the fandom. You manage to sell me every single time on post-game fics (which I usually hate) because of the depth and power of your storytelling and characterization. Well done! |
Moiranne Rose 2009-06-04 . chapter 8Oh. My. Gawd.
That was the saddest saddest /saddest/ (where's my italic button?!) story I've read in the whole freakin' year. Well written in every sense of the word and amazing with every heart-wrenching statement. I think your best POV was Marlene's, but I guess the simplicity and finality of the piece did have a hand in making it the most memorable.
Tifa is one person that should never die, that /will/ never die. I think she'll live on in the eight or million hearts that she's touched.

Qwi-Xux 2009-05-21 . chapter 8I usually try to avoid reading tragedies--I dislike crying over them too much--but someone recommended this one, and GAH, it was beautiful. Made me cry. T_T It completely filled my tragedy quota for the next year.
Really, though, it was great how you broke each point of view up and how you expressed the different things each person was feeling. I also liked how you never quite said what happened to Tifa to kill her, but just implied and left a lot to the imagination.
*sniffs* Very nicely done. |
Sienna03 2009-05-21 . chapter 8All female POVS are lovely- the prose is heartbreaking and the flow like a slow-bleeding wound. Fantastic job. |
Sienna03 2009-05-21 . chapter 4I meant to read this the whole way through, but I just haad to put in a review for this one. The ending paragraph was an ace- beautiful and terrible. Lovely, lovely, lovely. |
 Youko-Kokuryuuha 2009-05-20 . chapter 1Oh wow.
Simply phenomenal writing here, Nagia. This one really blew me away. I loved the way you divvied up the POV's of each character into separate scenarios so that each one would have the opportunity to express their individual griefs.
And what exquisitely written griefs they were.
Tifa was, undoubtably, Cloud's stabilizing factor, and so I found his reaction to her death to be very realistic. The reference to Zack gave his drabble a very bittersweet taste, because, well, he's lost another one, hasn't he? His destruction of the street at the end portrayed his descent into maddened grief perfectly.
Barret hardly managed to take any of it better. Because Tifa was more than his neighbor, something that you noted. The most powerful statement of his piece was the acknowledgment that only Tifa could have possibly comforted him through her death; irony at its most acrid.
And this is where I stop, because, really, I can't go through each piece; *all* of them were heartbreaking in their own ways. And they were all unified by the motif of overwhelming grief over Tifa's death.
I will say, however, that I thought Yuffie's character representation was outstanding. The way she muffled her melancholy with false cheer and faux smiles, I mean. It just seemed so unbearably Yuffie in nature, and that only made it all the more worse.
And that final POV, where Marlene visited Tifa’s grave. Oh God. That actually had me close to tears. The fact that, even in her childish perception of the world, Marlene could recognize that Tifa was gone, that something bad had happened to her, that she wasn’t coming back...it just seemed so saddening. It was the powerful culminating act in a series of unnaturally well-written and breathtaking prose.
Favoriting this one.

Sweet Valentine 2009-05-17 . chapter 8This is just so beautiful - I love reading Tifa!centric fics, because she's such an amazing character, and I love how you've fleshed her out - despite the fact she's not even *physically* present in the fic. And each character's chapter was so in-character, it was wonderful. The way everyone breaks down and deals (or rather, *can't* deal) with what's transpired. Yuffie's story is particularly incredible, as is Vincent's. Both are subtle, but so painful to read.
"Do the things I cannot, that AVALANCHE won't allow me to do, because of my age and gender."
This was *the* best line in the story. Just so stunning - the women have to be the caretakers - Aerith and Tifa were, Yuffie *must* follow suit, despite that it's not who she really is. It's a nice bit of commentary about the Final Fantasy-verse.
Really well done. |
Pen Against Sword 2009-05-13 . chapter 8Good god, I was putting off reading this because I *knew* it would be said. When Nagia writes tragedy, she writes. tragedy.
I love this picture you've painted of Tifa through the eyes of people grieving for her; I love the very real way you've depicted how a family's true insecurities and weaknesses shine through when a loved one dies; there are some great subtleties too.
I love the small bit about Vincent being unable to relate because of his age and his gender. Especially the gender bit. Very insightful, in my opinion.
Reeve's chapter was particularly good. Especially his feelings of isolation because he's never really been "one of them" or so he thinks.
Marlene's grief was very visceral and beautiful and sad.
I like the way Yuffie has had to assume the role of patching things up, the only female left, but still in her own Yuffie way. Poor Yuffie.
Great job, Nagia. |
d0lli 2009-05-04 . chapter 8Tifa is my favourite character and this is a wonderful, if bittersweet, tribute to her. You portray each of the characters beautifully. Thank you for writing such a lovely story ^_^ |
Valentine'sNinja 2009-04-19 . chapter 8This was unbelievably sad, but so well written. The perpective from every AVALANCHE member was a nice touch and you handled them all so well. This was a beautiful story and I hope you keep writing, since you've done an excellent job with this story.

Valentine'sNinja 2009-04-19 . chapter 1Wow, so much angst and it's still beatifully written. I can't wait to read the rest, since you've conveyed Cloud's feelings so clearly and painfully. Nice start and I'm off to read the rest!

indigochipmunk 2009-04-17 . chapter 7 This story is SO incredibly sad. But its awesome anyway. I love your writing, can't wait to see more! |
