but it was awesome at the same time.

I am always a fan of writers who can use the plot to their advantage. I think you know what I mean, since you were able to successfully explain Gary's hatred for the world around him with information that could OR could not be true, but otherwise makes sense. :3

The angst... oh the angst! And the love at the end. And not even smoochy or over-the-top love, but simple childish love between friends.

This was awesome. I'm just a tad curious about what Gary could say to cause a fistfight xD lol but with Ash on the other side I suppose it could be anything.

Man, you scared me at the start when you mentioned that death would be in this chapter; thought he was going to get suicidal which... wouldn't have been cool.
And since you didn't go that rude, that makes the one-shot all the better. Really well written by the way and the ending does ease the reader too (thanks for that-so much tension o.o).

it was sad :d but nice and sweet in the end, and it made me feel fuzzy inside. uhf. Kind of like a sour sweet candy, 'cuz, you know, sour makes your eyes water and all that. I really liked it and how you kept Gary in character to his past (which was believable, congrats!).

Geez, this is beautiful! I love the three-dimensionality you put into Gary, and the flashbacks as he went through the box. Although as a cat lover I have to say I felt a bit sick when I read about Muffins :(
