Aw. I really do like this pairing. It's nice to see someone who writes it. I thought I might have been alone in seeing it when I read the books.

Despite your pleas of not speaking English natively, I found that your grammar and vocabulary are impressive to a point where they might even surpass many native speakers.

Hi there. I know what you mena when you talk about Temeraire fandom. I love these stories and don't know why there isn't more interest in fanfiction. I loved your story - it's sweet and stays in the spirit of the books. Thanks for sharing it!

I agree with you that the Temeraire archive is shamefully small but I would absolutely love to see a story like that, especially if it was as well written as this one-shot. I really liked the Temeriare/Iskierka interaction.

I really like this. This is a perfect 14 year old crush. Emily wanting to give her most admired captain a great gift when she is older. The mixture of admiration and trust and sympathy that Emily showed was wonderful. Also when she thinks is so funny that she can embarrass him.
Laurence is really in character to risk life and limb for a cup of tea, and so characteristically diplomatically vague when explaining why he wants it. Or explaining to the dragons that Emily will not soon have an egg "she does not choose to have one for many years".
Its good that Jane Roland has already explained about sex, as that would positively put Laurence to the blush.
It would be nice to see Emily as a competent officer in 6/7 years but hopefully she will have other romantic interests.

An excellent fic and good concept. I for one would love to read a post VOE fanfic based in Australia, (I admit I am a little bias since I am Australian myself). Australia does have a tameish history but, there is the Boer war that we participated in and a few other little country events but not much.

Your launguage choices was true to theme and I liked your own style. I also agree that the Temeraire fanfiction is quite a small community, so I say bring on your story!

That was really cute. I must admitt I never thought of Emily harbouring secret romantic feelings for Laurence but now that I've read your story I could so see it happening. I would love to read a longer Laurence/Emily fic set in the future. I love the Temeraire books and was equally excited and disappointed when I found this category on . Excited that it was here and disappointed by how few stories there are. You keep writing and I'll keep reading!

I don't know that the fandom is small if someone like Peter Jackson hears about it. Maybe it's just that the books are ridicolously hard to live up (and add to), so that most give up before even trying.
