Wow, that's a really unique conception of this pairing, and I can see things going this way had things been different. It had that "quiet desperation" feel that I liked.

I never saw these two together in my mind, not once, not even as a crack!pairing. But, by Jove has this changed everything. You turned this into something real and completely credible. Usually crack!pairings are mere jokes meant for a few laughs, but this is a total stragler from the norm. Beautiful, exquisiste work.

This isn't exactly a crack pairing because you take it so seriously. It actually makes a lot of sense the way it's written, and I'm a firm believer that love isn't limited, so conceivably anyone can fall in love with anyone else if the conditions are right. With that said, this is really, um, credible? If you take my meaning. There's definitely more to it than the typical "Crack pairing lol". I think actually the fact that it's got historical basis helped (in that nobility would generally take much younger wives). Is it an AU? Is it in the future? I don't know, but that's not really important.

If there is something I'm a little less than a fan of, it's the fact that Piandao is something of an emoboi here. It's shown up a lot whenever Piandao appears on this site, but I personally don't see it. I mean, it's definitely possible, but I really don't see it.

In any case, we deifinitely need more Piandao on the site, and definitely need more well-written crack pairings. So good on you, mate.

This is such a nice read. It's just not right when great one-shots only get one review. The effort is truly appreciated.

I have not ever head of this pairing before and it was interesting, especially as a crack pairing. Never the less, the way you wrote it was very good. I enjoyed Paindo's thoughts and reactions to Mai. The ending was a great touch.
