Aww, she's so...very sweet, our Anne. I loved the first book, growing up, and a good few more besides. Hm...maybe I have a copy around here somewhere...

Anyway, it was a nice trip down memory lane, and it was ever so adorable, and Anne's voice was...just right. That mix of archness and sweetness, as Mr. Darcy would put it. :)

i literally could not stop smiling as i read this. you made me want to go out and read the anne series all over again. every detail is absolutely perfect - loved the mentions of diana and marilla, and anne's reactions to gilbert were so adorably /anne/. well done!

Love this story! You captured Anne's voice perfectly in the opening paragraph, and the rest blended splendidly with your own voice. This scene is now definitely in my Anne of Green Gables canon. Beautiful. :-)

I haven't read "Anne of Green Gables" in years, but now I may have to! This was very cute, and you managed to capture Anne's personality perfectly. My favorite part was the phrase "overlapped like a kiss."
