Since I have read "Death of John McClane" and "Death of Matthew Farrell" in Livejournal, I've been expecting this prequel. This is really well written and makes the first two chapters more worthy to read, in spite of sadness.

Very sad and poignant the whole way through. I really like the first chapter (with everything in parenthesis). It's heartbreaking for the two to get together, only to have John die so soon after. Somehow, it does seem like it could happen like this.

Very well written, that is to say a believable storyline. Aces.

Alright I so waited till the very end to read this fic and it was pretty damn sad! It was well written as most death fics i read don't punch me in the gut like this one did. I will look forward to the prequel when it comes out.

The first chapter was most excellent, a fitting way for him to die. Matt's death was soul-suckingly depressing. Hope you write more, 'cause I really, really enjoyed that.

For a long time ive been avoiding this because its a tragedy (and my heart strings are quite sensitive). But im glad i finally read it, its really good. Well done, im looking forward to the prequel.

Bloody brilliant, by the way-about. Pulled heart strings, I'll tell ya that. My favorite thing was the odd writing style you used (when you kept using these babies). The only complaint I have is length, but that's only because its so good I wish I could read more. Great job!

I hate you because I love this couple. I hate you because I can see this happening exactly. I hate you because I read this story and know it's believable and It probably has could happened to someone. Thank you for giving me the chance to read it but I hate reading sad endings but I just can't stop. By the way this is not a flame I'm just bitchy because I hate loving your story, Shadow.
