I've never thought about it from this point of view - but I guess maybe that's why Peter "grew up" and never returned to Narnia. He probably felt that he was disillusioned.

Good point, that returning to childhood after having lived a full life would be horribly wrenching.

Oh, bittersweet. I always wondered about how the Pevensie children felt when they were thrust back into childhood--childish emotions, childish hormones? Such a radical readjustment of their identities.
