A very interesting storyline, and solid writing. I would advise you to challenge yourself and expand on ideas and make the storytelling more appealing at the same time. I found that 10 words per chapter as a bare minimum as a general rule to be quite useful; 10 words isn't a terribly tall order. It enables (and sometimes forces) a writer to think about when narration and dialogue should be used, encourages use of lively descriptions, and at the same time isn't so many words that it threatens to become wordy.

Try it out. Stuff like describing a scene can go a long way to bringing your story to life.
