2009-10-27 . chapter 22
*clears throat*
Okay, a lot is going on – I’m coming out of the lurking... and stuff. For now at least.
I read this piece yesterday (or today for the matter) from midnight til 1 AM and I still caught it – well most of it.
The Minimoose part was kind of confusing to me, as in confusing with the locations… because in the first run I apparently missed out or didn’t realize that he was actually phoning Stitch and the kids; that’s because I was particularly braindead at that moment. I’m sorry for reading your fic when I am particularly braindead and not fully awake, it will not happen again.
However, yay cameos! Yay. I couldn’t catch these until I read the AN though :/ (It is really sad for the fandom if I have to recognize a good OC buy them being described as “normal”)
I had to reread these two parts and now I eventually got it all, but… yup. I’m especially surprised since this time, the cameos appear to be furthering the plot and are not random names that are thrown in for good measure – I might have thought they would be some random “canon cameo” character that just pop up to further the plot like that one Irken that worked at Cosmo’s or the little group of Irken-Leftover Rangers – you get my drift.

Now something Plot related for a change – Zurg is back woho, I was wondering whether he would show up again, and to say the least the lost hand and hornet part did have me on the edge of my seat for a moment. However I didn’t quite get WHAT happened to knock him out – must be something with Zim and something that will be explained soon (since apparently things didn’t work anymore for him the last time we heard about the “Suggestion” thing)
However I am sad that the villain is unconscious again, because this fanfic needs more villains. More tension, less Angst; Yesplz *shot*

And on a sidenote: the Gaz parts made me lulz *goes back to lurking*

“What? You can’t do that! We’ll run a smear campaign on the Internet and get you thrown out of office!” I love that.

They only have 30 days to be rehabilitated? As in 30 EARTH days? …Yeah, that’ll happen.

Epic story; I think this is the best in the BS series.

This was a great conclusion. Great idea, having Minimoose's squeaks be sped-up sound files. And a very compelling new position MALIK and Kila have taken on the chessboard...

Companion works? Ooh.

I'm not gonna fault you for loving "Psychonauts". XD

All the same, can't wait for the next story, Cass. :D

I never got to say this, but you did an excellent job portraying Tav and Squib here in this little chapter. And WHAT a chappie it is! Just when I think I can't grip my seat any tighter...;)

I’m suddenly interested in this John Freeman, Saver of Humens even though I have never heard of him.

At the beginning of this fanfic, XR seemed loyal to Kila, but I guess he can only put up with so much of her crazy criminal side.

I didn’t expect Mik to be that…frozen when she saw Zim. I knew she probably wouldn’t be an oozing pile of emotions, but XR is right: she could have a least said “I missed you.” Anything besides just “greetings.”

That Gaz…Coming all those thousands of lightyears just to treat Dib like an insect. D:< She sure has a strange way of showing “love.”

Heh, a Darkwing Duck reference. XD

You managed to fake me out not once, but twice this chapter. First, when it was revealed Lilo could pardon Kila and Zim, I was wondering if you'd end things on so anticlimactic a note. Of course, you didn't. Then I wondered if the escape from Zurg would happen in less than a single chapter, which would also have been anticlimactic. Again, I shouldn't have doubted you.

Great chapter overall. Good plot progression, good action, and major supporting roles from Minimoose and Gaz. You even used Bertley, which I would've thought to be about the most unlikely character you'd pick from any of the series involved.

Aww poor mini. Awesome chapter, and are you gonna keep the original Nowhere Man and Rules on this website, or replace them with the new ones too?

Zim’s eyes narrowed. “Jerk.”
“She was a jerk…”Zim nodded. “I am glad she’s dead.”

I’m not sure who is saying what in that part.

Kila is wangsty. I’m glad see didn’t kill Red.

Another solid chapter. Hamsterviel continues to raise questions, I see. And of course, Zim and Kila continue their journey of self-discovery.

I think it's good you put that line in at the end. After so many problems coming Kila and Zim's way, it's like, at last, when there's absolutely nowhere to go...hope comes. There's "nowhere but up" from here!

At least, that's what one might hope for them. Once more, excellent work, Cassie. ;)

“You’ve done nothing wrong. Well, technically you have, but not lately, that I know of-“ ROFL. I also like when Dib said Mik was human. She certainly acts human, at least.

D’aw, Minimoose is so cute.

I figured Red was still alive; it’s nice to see him again.

The url didn't work. :(

I wondered if Tallest Red would come back into the picture. Interesting. And Hamsterviel's brown-nosing is excellent this chapter, as is Stitch's battle with his desire to strangle the white rat. Good work.

Oh, if only Zim knew. I really liked the "Because you're human" part. The term "humanity" is apt, it doesn't just mean BEING human, it means actually FEELING for others. Synonmous with compassion. :D

As for what I think of Zurg, I believe it can be summed up in song.

"Bum-bum-bum-YOU'RE AS COLD AS ICE!" Get it?

Another good part was the conversation Zim and Kila had near the end. With Zim opening up and talking about what Zurg did to him. Even talking about his fevers. Despite him trying not to concern himself with what she thinks of him, he's slowly beginning to be more and more willing to hear her opinion and to listen to her side of the story. Character development at it's finest: subtle and gradual with just a hint of love sprinkled in. ;)
