Mrs.Phineas Bogg
2009-09-15 . chapter 3
I have to say, you and FF author voyagersfan have a wonderful gift for description of settings and I am thoroughly drawn into them. I literally transported myself right in the first paragraph and could almost smell that oily puddle and see the lanky boy.
How cool, sometimes only a little prodding and confidence is what others need to get that green light. I've always liked that plot device. LOL..Jeffrey are Bogg are unforgettable in my book, such distinct features, it's no wonder Casey remembered. Jeffrey did handle that well, just as he would in the show. Good characterization! I love the banter and how smug Bogg gets when he ACTUALLY gets something right in history! LOL. Jeffrey is such a historic genius. As much as I love history, actually remembering names and dates throws me.
I like how you address the clothing issue too, they most likely hide their stuff and come back for it, lol..though there will always be that ONE day when some poor chap will strike it with their cool duds! LOL.
Bogg is crafty! Giving Jeffrey that job was brilliant!
I too love it when things fall into place...I imagine if Bogg came to our time zone today he'd be thrown in a holding cell and questioned and everything else, lol.
Oh! What a tense moment with that struggle to protect Seward! I hope nothing happens to Jeffrey!
I appreciate you delving into Jeffrey's thoughts on a guardian and Bogg's too. They are definitely becoming a family unit. Was the part about the omni being recalled a fact from the Guidebook? Or something you made up? I like it. I so look forward to the next chapter! Sorry for the long wait on my review, RL has been kicking me in the backside and all over. :( I know you are hard at work on other projects as well. ;) Those will all be great.

Oh, I do enjoy this fic:) Very good- I miss Voyagers. I'm almost surprised that they have not made a updated version of some sort via movie or television medium. They've made so many of those from telvision of the past! (Although, some we most certainly wish they had NOT, but I've seen one or two that were pretty good.)

I love this story...especially that you are researching the historical details so thoroughly. I hope, Bogg will have the opportunity for some parenting soon...

Great chapter. I love how the two are beginning to think of the other as family without realizing that the other is doing the same. Keep up the great work!

I love your Voyager! stories. They are so sweet, and you really nail the characters personalities. I hope you write more.

Well, I finally got my Voyager DVD, and having seen the episodes again, I decided to dive into fanfiction...you are the only author I found so far, who writes stories, in which the two are really in character and whithout a lot of annoying OC's in them. I especially liked how you tackled some of the smaller "problems" in the serie (I would really love to read your explanation how they get their original clothes back all the time). Hope you write more soon.

I hope I don't have to wait too long for chapter 3... I know your plate is full, but I can't wait to read chapter 3. This is an interesting fic and I also love the fact that you are doinng a story that takes place in-between the pilot and created equal.

Looks like sixteen year olds are ruling our stories lately. ;) I really like your characterization of Casey Jones, the way you write the dialogue, it reads like he's from Kentucky. I appreciate how you make them discuss the clothing issue and trying to find a pawn shop. Things just don't magically appear as much as we want the too, lol. Wow, Bogg's got cash! LOL. Cool, more people in history I never heard of, that's what I like to do, hunt for the obscure people who might have had substantial impact on history. It's fun.
WOW! What an exciting adventure on the bridge! So scary to have to make that choice and the fact that she won't remember them, hmm...good one!

Amazing description of the Pennsylvania train wreck, I felt like I was standing there with Bogg and Jeff (Don't I wish?)Bogg's growing fondness for Jeff is so sweet. Bogg gets attached easily and Jeffrey is very amiable, lol.
Is Mary Ambler a Voyager, from Shakespearean time? LOL..Is thee alright? How cute. Jeffrey's thoughts are interesting. I always suspect he feels a sort of guilt over his parents.
I remember having heat stroke, I felt like I wanted to die, I know I was sick to my stomach and my head pounded like a jackhammer for a few hours, but I slept it off. It was horrible!
Great chapter and choice of adventures. I'd like imagine the little boy was Bogg's best friend from Voyager academy, that's cool. ;)

Great chapter Jake. When you watch the episodes in order, you can tell the closeness that forms with those two. You can also tell that it's real on and off camera they they became fast friends. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Another wonderful chapter! I'm enjoying watching Bogg's fondness for Jeffery grow into a father's love for his son. You have captured the established characters perfectly. Thanks for posting another chapter so soon. Hopefully, Chapter 3 will not be far behind!

Very nice story. I liked the interaction between Bogg and Jeff. I also liked how you showed Bogg slowly opening his heart up to Jeff.

I have read and enjoyed your Voyager story, The Gift of a Son, very much. I recently purchased the Voyager DVDs from Amazon and have stayed up many late nights catching up with Jeffery and Bogg. You have captured both characters very well, both in voice, and actions. I look forward to reading more of your Voyager fic.
