Poignant, beautiful. I love how you characterized Daryl and Maria, since so little is known about them in canon. Wow! Maybe it's just that I had mood music (hooray Final Fantasy Vocal Covers) while I was reading, but this was quite simply one of the most moving fanfics I have read in quite some time. Beautiful!

I LOVE that last line most of all, by the way. It just ties everything together so wonderfully. :)

This might be the best Setzer fic I've ever read. I've always wondered why Setzer "joins" the Returners after the Vector mission--the game doesn't explain it at all! You've depicted him so very well here. I especially loved his flippant-but-not letter to Maria ("your beautiful double conned me and destroyed my life and for some reason I'm happier than I've been in years"). I also loved Setzer's conversation with Terra, and your hint that she was already looking for an explanation of what love is even then.

I thought this was fabulous. It seems almost all the best written stories are from Setzer's point of view. But this is definitely one of the best I've read.

Absolutely beautiful story. I never appreciate Setzer's part in the story as much as I should. It's always nice to see his point of view on things.
