Reviews for: The Maelstrom
Thor 12/22/01 . chapter 1
First off, let me make a clear cut statement of obsessive fact that I am really enjoying your stories. They are cool, I'm losing sleep trying to read them, my eyes ran away last night and I'm really worried they can't take any more stareing at the screen for long periods. I realize I haven't reviewed your tales since the first episode, but that was cause I had little new to say (in other words, they were really good). But, since this was written with the help of someone else I figured it's be nice to slap down a few more thoughts on this nice collaborative piece. As I usually do, let's start with some of the bad stuff. First, the horde of characters. I think it would be really nice if occasionaly you reintroduced characters and redescribed them. (This could be done quickly and would make it easier for people who can't read your stories back to back to catch up again with the action quickly.) Second, a bit more fleshing out could be done as some of the action seems to flow by too quickly in places. Thirdly, I think a bit more building on the mages as individuals would be cool. Thus far Jessup is the only one I really feel a connection with. (Though by the way his magic seems a bit more Hermatic then Akashic in his magical style, just my opinion mind) Okay, all that aside I still liked the overall flow of the story. It was very interesting and carried on the storyline of Nevermore's other great stories well. I was horribly disappointed that this is only the first part and now I have to sit around and wait to see what Dadelus does with the werewolf and what will save poor Sascha. I think that with a bit of rewriting to add on to the tale this story will rank up amongst my favorites! Two claws up, let the war of magic and blood continue. I look forward to the next part, please hurry!
