I like your plot thus far. It seems like it's going to take a mildly Mikagami-centric angle, but that's okay. A few small things, mostly grammar and stuff like that is poking holes in your otherwise unsinkable ship. Not big things like obvious tense errors, you're too experienced for that I suspect, but more than a handful of your sentences are fragments, which is needless to say a little confusing. It stinks to play "where's the verb" when you're trying to read a really cool story. Also it's hard to tell who's thinking what. Since you're writing from the omniscient narrator POV you've got to make it clear who's thinking what or else some people will get lost in FoR never-never land and never-never find their way back ^_^;; But like I said, nifty plot and it's a good story, it just needs that extra, extra polish to make it great.
