TeriyakiKat 2005-01-06 ch 1,	abusenice job on the dialogue and characters! they're very much the people of ba3 we've come to love. historically... er... if this were simply the father or uncle or something of blackadder 3's blackadder, it would make perfect sense, nothing lost, but as is... um. ba3 is after the american revolution by at 10 to 30 years (the french revolution, which they deal with, was about 10 years after... 1792ish. the references to george as regent imply that it was after 1811, when he was made prince regent, since his father (george i) was too insane to rule. other references to when the series takes place... i just don't have the historical knowledge to pick up on. i think of the jane austen references (titles of things and so forth) as implying 1800's to 18-teens, but i'm not actually sure. the george we know from ba3 (whether it was him or edmund, he was crowned george iv in 1820) would have been about 15 at the beginning of the revolution (oh... young blackadder... that'd be amusing...) ... and that's enough of the lecturing. (i don't know all this, btw, i'm sort of reading off a website. i had no idea which george we were looking at originally either.) really, there's no historical problem with the story as such, if its the previous generation, and historical accuracy isn't what this show is about anyway... i just thought i'd point it out. that aside, i like it. your witticism are witty, and they build well into the dialogue... nothing seems tacked on they way i've seen it do in other fics. its good dialogue, and clever too! a bit surprising that edmund is agreeing with a cause like a revolution... especially one that could make it bad for him, but if its just ire at a bad situation under a bad king, it makes sense. be interesting to see him react to the colonists too... somehow i can't see him being any less critical of them, which would be extremely amusing... not to mention that for once it would deal with people that some of us americans with no brit history knowledge (of whom i stand at the forefront... i get my little sister to tell me who some of those names dropped in ba 2 were.) will have have heard of, and therefore can get jokes about. good fic, just a little screwy in terms of time lines, but otherwise good job! any thoughts of continuing? (i'm guessing somewhat not, as this was... what? 3 years ago?)

I'd like to point out that although the Americans didn't have the right to vote, neither did many Brits (about one in twenty had the vote) and the average Brit paid fifty times the amount of taxes the average American did. However, very good, very funny, is there going to be a sequel?
