You are easily one of the best Star Trek 2009 Fanfic writers out there today... all of your characters are in-canon as JJ Abrams created them and I can totally see all of your scenes taking part either in the movie or in a sequel. I love how you take the characters and manipulate them into their own individuals. Your internal scenes are well written, but your true talent is in dialogue. I love the banter your characters have...

You have great one-liners (your one-shots are much stronger than your multi-chaptered fics)... I'm going to list my favorites here because FanFiction[dot]net won't let me post another comment in your one-shots...

Some of the best lines in this particular fic:
Oh, yeah, that's just great, Kirk wanted to tell Bones. Have you ever breathed with broken ribs? It hurts. (Yay for Kirk being in-character when he wakes up).

"Mr. I don't believe in no-win situations" (Yep. Can see that one sticking.)

“Do I need to remind you who's in charge of sickbay? This part of the ship is like a little bubble where your ego does not hold any influence. You will rest or I will make you, got it?” (Totally made me giggle. I wish this line made the movie... And easily the best line in this entire fic. Go Bones.)

Best line in Prelude...
George S. Kirk was a Starfleet legend. James T. Kirk had a criminal record and a serious attitude problem. (So incredibly true... and a spot-on assessment. I read somewhere that Chris Pine described Kirk as being a 15-year-old kid in a 25-year-old body or something like that).

Best of Roommates...
“Damn.” He breathed it out, the word containing every ache and pain in his body. “It's been a long day, days... whatever.” (I like your nod to the ambiguity of time. At the end of the movie I was like "Was this all one day? Or three days?" - it can be totally argued either way and the whatever is perfect because it doesn't matter).

Groaning, Kirk shifted. “I think I've broken something.” / “Ribs. Two.” / “Oh, yeah.” / “You'll just have to deal with it. If I put anything else into your system you'll be risking an overdose.” / “Yeah, let's not do that.” (BEST. EXCHANGE. EVER. Both characters are in character and I love their voices... =) )

Best of Getting Out...
“S'not so bad.” / “Jim, I dunno if anyone's ever told you, but your definition of 'not so bad' is messed up.” (So true... Loved Bones here.)

“Bleedin' out? S'jus a scratch. Teeny... tiny... hey... s'all gone red. Izat bad?” (L*rd... Izat bad? I can just totally see Kirk saying that while bleeding out and Bones rolling his eyes. *giggles*)

“In a battle, one rarely stops to think.” / “So what, armies often taken out their own soldiers because they don't stop to think about who they're shooting at?” / “Consider your confusing environment.” Quaking, painfully noisy, dim, dusty, hot... “Taking down a colleague, a friend, would be easily done here.” / “I can't believe we're having this debate right now.” / “I can,” came a voice from behind McCoy's shoulder. / “You're supposed to be unconscious,” McCoy observed. / “An' miss all the fun? Nah... 'Sides, can't sleep wi'all this noise... Who started the war? Was it me?” (Oh dear G*d... Kirk's last line was a cincher. Made my day. Liked the argument, but Kirk's line was a classic.)

Spock kicked a door down (“yeah, that won't alert anyone,” McCoy called out. Spock ignored him) (More classic Bones.)

Spock left and McCoy, face still smudged with the dust of a warring alien world, turned to his friend. “Let's get you patched up Jim.” (I can see Bones being resigned here. As though he has done it a million times, and not just since they were on the Enterprise...)

I really enjoyed this. Beautifully written with an emotional punch. I thought the back and forth cuts worked really well within the story.

Very well done as usual. Great Action. Great humor. Great tension and suspense. All if this in both the present(crippled shuttle) and past(fake Romulan village). Awesome.

This Kirk is defintely a fighter...a fist fighter. Brawler if you will.

Brilliant. This story had it all: action, drama, suspense. Great depiction of the characters and the relationships between them, especially between Kirk and McCoy.

This line has amused me greatly. I love how he has to stick something flirtatous into most of his conversations At least once. Your characterization of Bones was amazing. You are amazing. =)
