Love the story but click the complete button! It's driving me round the bend!

Wow! I read this story in one day and I absolutely LOVED IT! Honest to God, that was one of the best, most in-character Jibbs fic I've read in quite some time. Brilliant stuff, I love your writing style! Can't wait to read the sequel now.

I'm pretty sure she hit him with a nine iron; it's mentioned in an episode, I just don't remember which one. Unless you're talking about another time or another wife than what I remember.

"She scowled to herself as the elevator stopped on her floor and opened, wishing she had the option of visiting Ducky if things got tense. Unfortunately, he was attending the ballet tonight with a lady friend. Jenny was only a little bit jealous." - In your NCIS-verse for this fic did Jenny take ballet classes when she was a little girl?
"Part of her, the Jenny that had given everybody so much trouble in high school, wanted desperately to make a lewd comment or touch Jethro inappropriately right in front of Diane, just to exert revenge on the other redhead for name-calling." - Oh, now I desperately want to read fics or know stories about Jenny when she was in high school, as it sounds like she was awesomely entertaining then.

"Jethro humored the Doctor in his stories" - Really? Why does he not let Ducky finish a story for once, then? I'm forever yelling exactly those words, that is: 'For God's sake, let Ducky finish!' at the TV screen.

"Gunnery Sergeant Logan Burnett and his wife Gemma had told them about the guys who’d roped Shelley and Gemma in, loaning them more money than they could ever pay back and promising them easy interest rates." - Whenever I hear or read that about loan sharks and their victims in RL or see it on TV somewhere, I SO want to be angry at the victims, but then again I have never been that desperate about being short of money ever, so I suppose I cannot speak from experience, nor do I even have a valid reason for being angry.
"The massive suite on the sixth floor had fir damage last year, and has been closed since—“ - 'The massive suite on the sixth floor had fire damage last year, and has been closed since—“.
“Don’t hurt them, Jenny; they can’t overcome natural instinct,” Lila snorted, turning her eyes on her own starstruck police chief. “They’re just boys.” - Hehehe, I LIKE detective Lila, I LIKE her loads!
“I’ve got a blade,” she informed him shortly. He determinedly did not look for where it might be. “Rule nine’s my second favorite,” she added, with a small smirk." - WAY TO GO, Jen! I wonder what her favourite rule is?

I think that blonde waitress is somehow involved in their case or whatever it is they are watching for.
“Well, Shepard, be subtle about it. You’re good at that,” he snapped. She scowled, unsure of the meaning of his last statement, and took her time uncrossing her legs and folding up her magazine. Jenny stood up, pushing her chair in, and turned—only to run into Blonde Waitress as she carried a tray towards the other edge of the patio. Jenny squeaked in surprise as the tray tipped and she dropped her tea, not only shattering glass all over the concrete but also ending up covered in what looked like lemonade. She closed her eyes and cursed violently under her breath as the device on her wrist popped on her skin, informing her it had short-circuited. “Oh, honey, I am so sorry—my, I’m so clumsy, always have been, here, come with me—“ The woman took Jenny’s arm gently and tugged slightly, but Jenny held her ground and held up her hands, shaking her head, trying to keep control of her tone. “Its fine, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it,” she said, shaking her head. The woman’s grip tightened. “I really insist you come with me,” she said, lowering her voice." - Oh shoot! Nothing subtle about that!
“I don’t guess you’re gonna ask like a gentleman?” Lila asked half-heartedly, looking a little unnerved." - The one and only time he asked like that was when he said "please" to Kate in 'Yankee white', LOL.

“Diane, If I’d slept with Jethro he wouldn’t be able to remember your name after I was through,” she hissed fiercely, her tone all suggestion and incendiary words." - Well said, Jenny!

"She did not like sitting around listening to people talk, as she made clear." - So she very likely orchestrated the way the team acted up in that sexual harrassment lecture in 'Driven', that season 4 ep?
"he set his coffee in a cup holder and flicked her in the ear with sharply." - "flicked her in the ear" with what? OK, so maybe the team was following both Gibbs's AND Jenny's lead in 'Driven', LOL.
"removing the show and dropping it unceremoniously to the floor." - 'removing the shoe and dropping it unceremoniously to the floor.'
That interaction between Jenny and Gibbs there (after the shoe removal) had me laughing out loud.

"His gaze roamed from her hand on the glass to the red bunch of curls balanced in a messy waterfall on her shoulder, imitating the color of expensive wine." - OK, so is her sort of ginger hair when we meet her in the series dyed, or is this wine-coloured hair of hers the dyed version?
“and while I did it, I made sure he felt my SIG.” Gibbs couldn’t help but shift his eyes towards her waist, where the material of her dress was too tight to conceal a weapon underneath, thus forcing him to look lower. He looked back up hesitantly, just as she turned her head away with a smirk, unconsciously taking another sip of her bourbon. “If you’re wondering where it is,” she said slowly, “I’ll show you later.” He raised his eyebrows and smirked. Jenny’s cheeks flushed suddenly and she looked back at him swiftly with slightly widened eyes. “I meant, when,” she stammered and swallowed, laughing a little. “I meant when I’m wearing, you know…something else. Slacks or...or jeans.” - That was kind of funny, in a yellow light way, IMO.
"Jenny stood in the parking garage with her heels in her hand, leaning against the black sedan. Her head was pounding, she felt she had a little too much to drink, her feet were killing her," - Is she wearing stockings? They are going to ladder badly if she stands there much longer.
"he got to wear a belt and holster is gun there." - 'he got to wear a belt and holster his gun there.'
"She couldn’t exactly place why she was in such a bad mood all of the sudden." - 'She couldn’t exactly place why she was in such a bad mood all of a sudden.'
"She heard him snort and made a mental note to roll her eyes at him when she had the strength to actually open them." - LOL

He turned to Fornell. “I like mine better,” he said bluntly. Fornell smirked. “Mine’s not a redhead in heels, Gibbs,” he retorted smartly." - That was SO FUNNY.
"She took the chair opposite him and drew it back a little, sitting down and crossing her legs." - Crossing her legs: at the ankles or at the knees?
"and raised the back to him." - 'and raised them back to him.'
"and didn’t have the look of constant pain on his face he’d seemed to have with the other trainees." - Gibbs did not have that look (or I don't think he did) with Kate, McGee or Ziva later on either, though he could very well have had it where agent Lee was concerned.

"Weekend duty was actually her favorite. Most agents grumbled and groaned about it, but she definitely preferred weekends to weekdays. Dress codes were relaxed, the office wasn’t so crowded, people even seemed generally happier—or maybe that was just her." - What IS the NCIS dress code, BTW? Do we even know (because it is hardly ever mentioned except that one time very early on in season 1 where Fornell says something to Kate - who is then very new to NCIS - about it)? I am waiting for my season 6 DVDs (the other episodes I have all watched countless times) to arrive from the US and that is the only mention in canon I can remember about the dress code for NCIS.
Fornell's reaction to and interaction with Jenny was totally funny.
"Jenny muttered to herself in annoyance as she ducked another tree branch, already having been assaulted one too many times." - I'm glad it is not just me that the tree branches set out to attack so viciously.

“What do you plan on doing with that?” Stan demanded, still looking as if someone had told him they had a sniper trained on the back of his skull. ‘I can’t tell you,” Jenny informed him, “Rule six.” Stan paused, thinking, and stared at her. She rolled her eyes. He’d been here longer than she had and she still knew the ropes better than him. It made her feel warm and fuzzy inside. “Best way to keep a secret: keep it to yourself. Second best way: tell—“ “One other person, yeah, I got it,” Stan interrupted, muttering. He came into the bullpen, still speaking quietly. “So you can tell me, Shepard, what the hell you’re doing with Gibbs’ coffee.” She shook her head, smirking, and reached out to pat his face patronizingly. “So sorry, Stanley,” she said, clicking her tongue, “I’ve already told one other person.” He looked put out." - I LOVE it that Jenny knows the rules better than Burly; it almost makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside too.
"She smile at him," - 'She smiled at him,'.

"He breath nearly stopped at his threat," - 'Her breath nearly stopped at his threat,'.
“You hesitate again, and I’ll have you badge,” he snarled, glaring at her." - Gibbs said almost the same words to McGee in that season 3 ep 'Probie'.
"Do you want to see you dad?” - 'Do you want to see your dad?”
That bit where Gibbs spoke to Daisy and carried her back to her dad was SO sad.

"Diane was not home when he got there, and for that he thanked whatever god was listening." - Gibbs is, IMO, SO lucky that there IS one still listening to him.
