Hm... I'm going to go with the flow and say Lucius and Narcissa. I think that that's the most likely, although Narcissa has never really seemed like a shrieker... I'm not going to say Bellatrix because no one dating her would ever make the mistake of thinking her too weak to fight, and she wouldn't go through all that interlude because she would be fighting too. I think it's a dark side pairing, because the whole thing with the "right" side is a total DE thing to say. I guess it could be something with Andromeda too though... it does seem a bit like her. Anyway, please tell? Amazing fic, BTW.

Lucius/Narcissa?

-Juts out chin defiantly- I will always say Bella/Rod, you know that, especially with some of the adjectives you used. But it could be some other member of the Black family, so either Lucius/Narcissa (this is a bit likely) or Rod/Andi (if you're going on a YFM inspired way). It's not totally unlikely if they exhibit the occasional Bella-like quality. But it depends on how your Bella/Rod is like this time. You keep changing them around, so i get confused. If it was me, no one would ever have to worry about that. Mine stay the same. Anyways, i love this little thing. Cute, and a desparate romantic sort of way.

I really like this! This is a unique and fascinating idea, and I can't wait to see where this goes. Well done!

After reading if over, I can't help thinking of Harry and Ginny--is that who you had in mind? Maybe I'm stupid... but that seems to be who it reminded me of. Although that doesn't seem like your usual style or time period. Maybe Lily and James?

On a personal level: I'm surprised I didn't imagine it as a would-be Death Eater and his girlfriend, because they're normally the ones I'm more interested. I see this either as Lily and James, or as one of the Prewett brothers and his girlfriend. I know you said it was two canon characters, but that's what comes to mind :)

This is a really, really hard one. Evil of you, not to give anything away. From the language you used to describe the narrator, like shrieked and panted, I sort of thought of Bellatrix. That's just because J.K.R. used these words too when writing the character. But Bellatrix is usually the dominant one in the relationship with your stories so that throws me off. I don't know XD sorry

I'm sure anyone who knows you would be guessing it's Rod and Bella, so I'm guessing that would be incorrect... but if it's not them, then I really don't know who it WOULD be.

Great work, and it was a really good one-shot like always. For me I thought it could be two pairings. (These were the first pairings that came instantly to mind, and they are probably wrong.)
But anyway,
I thought that it was Narcissa and Lucius because I find that they have a good relationship between each other, and to me this shown their true dedication for each other especially from the girls POV.
The line: I intend to fight in that war," he clarifies. "On the right side. I don’t want to put you in danger or have you worrying about me. It’s better this way.” Now this is probably a random like explanation, but hey.. You put the word "right" in italics. For me this shows that the word "right" has emphasis being put on it. Also, it is something that I would imagine a death eater saying.. A kinda random explanation I know, and a strange thought.
“Don’t die for anything! Live, you idiot! If you need a reason, then live for me. You love me, don’t you?” I sometimes get the impression that Narcissa is sometimes like Bellatrix, therefore this line portrays that the character is annoyed and is so desperately wanting love. I think that this is Narcissa as Bellatrix has only one love in her life and that is the Dark Lord.

My second theory is that it might be Rodolphus and Andromeda...
“So what?” I demand. What the hell does it have to do with us?
I always got the impression that before the first war.. Andromeda didn't really care that there was a war and she thought that it wasn't a big deal.
Also, for some reason I think that this fic is set before Andromeda dated Ted, yet there is no evidence to prove that. I say this as Andromeda must be the sort of person who believes in love and that love will conquer all. Like, when she fled with Ted Tonks, so they could get married. She must if been pretty certain that she liked him.
I also thought that Andromeda was portrayed as this caring woman and particuly the scene at the opening where the character puts her arms around the male characters neck.
Anyway, these are my theories that are incorrect, and I will stop writing now as if I don't. This review will be pages long.

I'm guessing Narcissa and Lucius because I know of no one who remotely feels that sensitive about their partner. Unless I'm not paying much attention. I'm just guessing that he's fighting for the Death Eaters, mainly because I don't think that anyone who wanted to be part of the Order would have to put so much emphasis on it being the 'right' side [[quote marks mainly because we all know the Death Eaters rock]]. That's just my guess- please tell me how close I am!

As for the chapter on a whole, loved it. It took me a while to read it beause my mouse is broken- right now the ball is taken out and I'm fiddling around the inside to make the cursor move. So you've really cheered me up today :D Can't wait to hear more from you

Oh, interesting! I like this, it's sweet. And we have to guess who they are? Well, okay . . . . I'll give you the two couples I think it could be, and my reasoning behind it, but I have to warn you now, the first is highly unlikely to be who you were thinking of! So here you are -

1) Molly and Arthur.

Okay, I KNOW you hate Molly! I did say it was highly unlikely. The only reason I'm thinking it is because I reread the Molly / Arthur proposal chapter of Protege Moi to reply to your review, and now it's stuck in my head. But the whole thing reminds me of it, though, as I said, I really doubt that's who you had in mind. Here, I'll show you -

“Everything! It's got everything to do with us!” Weasley had turned a vivid, flaming pink. Bellatrix didn't think she'd ever seen him this worked up. “We're the only ones who can stop them, Molls, we're the only ones who can stand up and fight! The Muggles can't defend themselves, how can they? They don't understand what's happening! But we do . . . and it's not just Muggle killings. It's pureblood supremacy and hatred for “half-breeds” . . . all that outmoded Slytherin snobbery.” He paused, inhaling deeply. “Molly,” he whispered, “it's got to stop. And I've got to do my part, I couldn't live with myself if I didn't. I've spoken to your brothers, and they agree.”

Molly pulled her hand away and folded her arms, suddenly looking rather imposing. “If I find,” she said heatedly, “that Gideon and Fabian have been trying to talk you into something dangerous-”

Arthur interrupted her, squeezing her shoulders and looking more serious than ever. “Molly, it's not like that,” he insisted. “They don't have to 'talk me into' anything. There's a war coming, whether we like it or not, and we can't just sit back and let it happen to someone else. That's the easy option, not the right one. And it's not just them . . .” He inhaled deeply. “It's Dumbledore too. We're not children anymore Molly. We'll be out of here in a few weeks. And Dumbledore's right. We have to pick a side, the right side, to fight on. And we both know which side that is. The thing is,” - he smiled sadly - “I expect it's going to be dangerous. And if anything were to ever happen to me . . . well, there are things I've always wanted to do, and marrying the girl I love is one of them. So in a situation like this, I just don't see the point in waiting.”

“You really think there's going to be a war?”

“It's already beginning.”

Molly was silent for a long minute. Then she pulled herself together. “I won't elope with you, Arthur. It's not that I don't want to marry you,” she insisted, “It's just that . . . marrying you now would be tantamount to admitting we might not have much time left. And I refuse to think like that. We will get married, but we'll have years before we even need to think about it.”

And we know Molly / Arthur then elope . . . . So - is there method to my madness? Or do I have some hypersensitive Arthur / Molly fluff detector installed in my head? *considers*

Well, option two is much more likely anyway -

2) Rodolphus / Andromeda, as portrayed in You Found Me.

My reasoning behind this - He calls her a kid, implying he's older - seventeen - and she's younger - fifteen.
The talk about the "right side", could mean either, because the DEs have just as much conviction they're on the right side as the Order.
Rodolphus dumping her would be interesting as an explanation for why she ends up with Ted.
She shrieks at him, which seems a very Bella or someone-closely related to Bella- thing to do.

I don't know . . . If it were Molly / Arthur, it would be sort of sweet, becuase we know they elope and all . . .but if it were Rodromeda, it would be infinitely more tragic. Of course, if you wrote requited Belladolphus the way Elaine does, with Rod a year older than Bella and them being each other's true loves, that could fit this too . . . .
