han8661 2009-10-28 . chapter 44that was ace! is there a sequal? i would love it of there was a sequal! please? |
han8661 2009-10-27 . chapter 32do you know if you type in, Nothing lasts forever, and dead men rise up never, into google with speech marks ("") at either end it comes up with your fanfic? and how does the rest of that proverb go or did you just make it up? |
pebbles66 2009-09-07 . chapter 44I'm so sorry for this to end. I'll be going back to re-read it, but it's been wonderful!
I love that Col. Hayter was there to greet Watson, and I love that Watson's dream of his time in India gradually faded into the reality of an Eastern meal with the Colonel. Watson needs someone to care about him deeply, and the Colonel obviously does.
And I'm so glad to finally see the real end of Quimper. Finally!!
Can't wait for your next epic! |
 Rangerfan58 2009-07-26 . chapter 44nice ending i guess it's the books from here |
andi 2009-07-14 . chapter 1 My guess would be that Holmes would first throw the Yard 'into a snit' right? In the Adventures of the Empty House it appeared that Lestrade knew about Holmes' return before Watson did. Yes?
More please!! good luck with your book publishing! |
shedoc 2009-07-12 . chapter 44wow - i can't tell you how much i have enjoyed this series!! you really created something that was believable and a set of characters that truly stood alone from the doyle universe while fitting in so seamlessly that they could have been there from the time that doyle himeself started writing.
I love that there is 'forgotten' words and language use, that you've incorporated dialects and attitudes that modern england has forgotten and that the victoriana was so accurate - down to the medicine that watson practiced (i.e. he wasn't handing out mordern drugs left right and centre and the use of home remedies was acceptable still)
thank you so much for sharing this series with us!! and YAY for the book (crosses fingers too) |
Bartimus Crotchety 2009-07-11 . chapter 44Your writing is dense and professional...I bow to it. You Holmsian lot are so frigging good I get a little intimidated at times LOL!
great story it really should be published...honestly!

Literatech 2009-07-10 . chapter 44Love that it ends with a smile on the face of Sherlock Holmes and the sun rising. The end and a new beginning. I miss them all so much already! |
andi 2009-07-10 . chapter 44 really really great story:)
So Montipellier, eh? Only a few more months from home? :) |
Westron Wynde 2009-07-10 . chapter 44 Well, it's been a fast, furious and wonderful adventure from first to last. All I can say is - thank you for sharing :) |
Pompey 2009-07-10 . chapter 44Ah, much better re: Quimper's death! I didn't think you'd stoop to "the river wanted him and the river took him" sort of thing and you didn't disappoint.
From what you've said, there is going to be more . . . yes? I mean, Lestrade has to find out that Clea is pregnant with their first daughter (was that what Watson was pondering there in the lamplight? I rather think it was) and Holmes has to throw everyone into a snit over his resurrection and BOTH colonels need to be dealt with.
And I can't wait! :) |
reflekshun 2009-07-09 . chapter 44You certainly weaved a very good story. Please let us hear from you again soon, and thank you for sharing. |
 Rachel Indeed 2009-07-09 . chapter 44I can't believe it's over. Wow. What a journey.
This final chapter felt so cinematic, full of beautiful (and terrible) contemplative images. As usual, your character insights are striking (I loved the way you painted Watson's experience of food, as opposed to Holmes's) and every mention of Mary was delicately haunting. As you say, this chapter was a vigil, and I love the ending, with Holmes continuing his inevitable path, which we know will someday lead him home.
Thanks so much for this amazing tale. Although I know it's not fair to expect more epics, I just really hope you won't stop writing. Beautiful, beautiful work. |
 rabidsamfan 2009-07-09 . chapter 44Wah! I don't want it to be over!
But still, it has been a marvelous roller coaster ride. And I hope you have more planned. I want to find out if I'm right about Clea, and I want to find out how your Watson reacts when Holmes turns up again after all this.
Thank you so much for writing this! |
KCS 2009-07-09 . chapter 44Such a sweet, sad, wonderful finish to the most amazingly-plotted and characterized arc I've ever read in this genre...probably in literature. You've made these characters live so heartily that they will never die. I look forward to someday having these books on my bookshelf for my own kids to read after they've joined the ranks. :)

But this is truly the end? :( *is very sad about this*
I don't suppose you could be convinced, coaxed, cajoled, or bribed into just for fun giving us EMPT from your perspective? I'd a heck of a lot rather read your version, whatever it would be, than Doyle's, for what it's worth to you.
But anyway, thank you very much for a wonderful read, from beginning to end! |
