First let me say that I absolutely love S1 fics. Seriously. And there just aren't enough of them out there.

Second you have done a completely stellar job on this. Oh my god. The vocabulary, the banter, the overdramatic, verbose Joey, the vocabulary-enhanced Pacey. So good. So many lines that just perfectly capture these characters.

The deconstruction of the kiss from Pacey's POV was excellently done. Wow. "A rush of something pulled him along" struck me as a I read. Very nice. You mixed canon and original dialogue seamlessly and changed Joey's reaction realistically.

The scene with Dawson was pretty funny. Very indicative of Dawson's disbelief that Pacey would actually do it.

"...her fingers played idly with the hem of the table cloth, fading fabric her Mother wove together decades ago." Great attention to detail here.

My sense at the end is that Joey's afraid although I couldn't tell if the feelings she's developed 'for exactly the wrong person' means Dawson or Pacey. I'm assuming Pacey and that's why she's so angry. I'll be interested to see how you resolve this because I think if she needed Dawson's blessing in S3 she certainly won't make a move here without it.

One tiny niggle. Adversing is not a word. Adverse is an adjective not a verb. Considering the sheer volume of vocabulary in this chapter, I'm not complaining but thought you might want to know.
