I used to dislike Eve/Livia, but after reading stories like this one, I can't help but feel sympathetic toward her. Its awkward enough being around this mother that's a stranger, but to have a father that was once so close and now must be so distant. Its kind of heartbreaking to be Eve.

As always, your story is wonderful. I like how you wrote this story through Gabrielle's point of view and your portrayal of Ares and Xena, especially the part about not being content and growing bored with domestic life after awhile. I like how Ares isn't the perfect father (by human standards) or doesn't even attempt to do so once he's a god again. It showed how much he loved Xena that she was the only person he ever tried to be a mortal for.

This is a beautifully written story. It never fails to make me sniffle and smile. Any plans to do a sequel? I can think of a few fairly believable explanations for how Xena could still be alive. :) And I would love to see how she and Ares deal with a child of 7. Of course, I love the simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming ending you have now, but sequels are always fun...Thanks for a great read,

This beautiful piece of fanfiction never ceases to move me to tears. The tightness in my chest and throat remid to breathe once in a while while reading the last scene when Ares is interacting with Gabrielle.
