Red Bess Rackham 2009-06-01 . chapter 1Excellent little oneshot, lighting up McCoy's background a little bit. Very well written and in character. Loved it!

rockyshadow 2009-06-01 . chapter 1This is a great backstory for Dr. McCoy. It's so sad that his wife did that to him and his lawyer's a jerk. I'm glad he signed up for Starfleet and will eventually have his adventures with the Enterprise crew to distract him from these thoughts. I feel bad that he won't see his daughter too. |
redwingsgirl514 2009-05-27 . chapter 1If he had been less inebriated he might have been amused that he signed his life away twice in less than three hours with the same titanium pen. Lucky for him, it was guaranteed to write upside down, in water, in any temperature, and even in zero gravity. He figured it was the least the bloodsucking lawyer owed him once he got the bill.
*sniffle* Poor McCoy! Oh oh oh. I'd have left the planet, too, coming from all that. |
SilverBladesGal 2009-05-26 . chapter 1GOOD!! I liked it! You should do another one with Bones and his daughter! |
Anne11 2009-05-25 . chapter 1Very nice. I love seeing people trying to fill in the backstories on these characters, and I think you've done very well here. I can see it going down precisely this way. It would completely explain how someone like McCoy ended up in Starfleet. It would also explain how he'd be willing to sign up for a job that would take him so far from his little girl. So, very nice job. You should write more. |
Tolly 2009-05-21 . chapter 1Wow. I really enjoyed this fic, even though I wanted to find McCoy's ex and slap her upside the head for being a bitch. And it's just as well I saw Trials and Tribble-ations recently, or I wouldn't have gotten that little line about Dax. Oh, you're good.
Are you planning on writing any more vignettes like this one? |
book-zealot 2009-05-19 . chapter 1I really liked this. The new movie made McCoy out to be a great character and I wondered why his wife would divorce him.
Of course, this also makes me want a sequal. Where is his justice? If he never cheated on her, and it was all a misunderstanding then he should get some sort of justice.
Now I'm getting ideas...his daughter confronts him years later...the nurse's speak up for him (that they had never dated and it was just friendship)...they find out he was on the USS Enterprise and was a hero...he gets hit with some sort of truth serum and everyone finds out the truth...If I had any writing talent at all I would try to write these(if you want to go ahead). Unfortunately, I am horrible at it.
Anyways, the best stories are the ones that make you want more, and I think this qualities as one of those. |
