2009-11-24 . chapter 11
I too am sorry to see the end of Here There be Lions', I really enjoyed seeing the interactions between the brothers and James. I also hope you are well. I hope you return someday to this era as I am sure there is a lot more to say.

I cannot recall another fanfiction story with such good characterization! To me, the characters and the accuracy with which the author portrays them is vital to my enjoyment of the story. I loved every chapter of this story! Not only were the characters great but the plot was interesting and different, the pieces were well written and well edited. Excellent job! I hope that you will continue to write new All Creatures Great and Small stories! Thank you for putting so much time and effort into your work and bringing so much enjoyment to those of us who read these stories.

Only Tris could get himself in that sort of situation while he was blind! I am glad Siegfried admitted to wanting Tristan home, everyone know but it is just nice to have him say it. I am glad that Tristan's vision appears to be returning but I have to say, in the interests of the beautiful brotherly moments that I know will come out of it, I hope Tristan's vision is still impaired when he gets back. Great story, I check for updates daily. Keep up the great work and thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful story for the rest of us to enjoy!

WOW, that was a very powerful chapter. The emotion was so high you could almost feel it.

Just realized I didn't review this chapter. Such a Tristan thing to do, leaving behind his supplies and taking the poor little dog. I love the fact that Siegfried sent him his watch and the inscription was beautiful. Great job!

GREAT CHAPTER!! I laughed when Tristan called the dog after Ghurka. I love how you jumped ahead a bit on the home front, bring James home and having the new baby too. I really can't wait for the next chapter! Poor Tristan getting hurt, please include Siegfried finding out. Really looking forward to seeing where you go with this story. I check for updates everyday most days multiple times.

Argh! Cliffhanger!

Wow! What can I say other than I think that you have created such a brilliant story here. Each chapter that you add is so well written, well thought out and well characterised that I get completely absorbed into it. I love the segments with James and Siegfried that you have so skilfully interpolated into Tristan's story. And what a marvellous story it is!

Hehe! Always an interesting time when Granville makes an appearance! He's one character that more times than not made me laugh. :) I did like the little stumble at the end - cleverly done. And I so agree with what Granville said at the end of the piece. Mystifying indeed... :)

You're doing marvellously well with this story, and I'm so enjoying reading it. Wish I had time to sit down and read it right the way through, though, instead of bits and pieces. I'm so behindhand! :)

Good old Tris, keeping Burke from getting in too much trouble. I must say I feel a bit sorry for David who is getting the bad side of Siegfried because he is so worried about Tristan. Another good chapter, great job!

Tristan, always the opportunist. Poor Siegfried, he is so worried about his brother. Good job.

2009-10-03 . chapter 4
It is sad in a way that Tristan had to pretend to fall down to hug his brother goodbye but yet somehow it does seem like the only way it would happen. They are not the hugging sort really. Great job, looking forward to chapter 8. I am rereading while I wait!

a beautiful chapter, I must admit that I have read it a few times. My favorite bit is when Helen gets mad at Siegfried and then start crying and he is there in a moment, just like he would be. Beautifuly written.

I have skipped around in reading this story and because of this have gone back to the beginning again. I really like the characterization, there is such truth to the struggle and emotion great job I can't wait for the next chapter!

Leave it to Helen to get Siegfried sorted and put things in proper perspective.:):) She certainly brings home just how difficult the war years were for those on the homefront, as well as for those serving. Still, I do feel sympathy for Siegfried being sent home for such reasons.

It struck me as a bit odd to see Helen refer to a biscuit as a 'cookie'. Maybe she got it from American films! :)

And thanks for having Tristan once again being the comic relief in the piece. When I read he was leaning back dangerously in his chair, I knew he'd end up on the floor! :):)

Well done!
