It’s sweet that, when Edward didn’t know what to do, he ran to Carlisle for advice, but ended up getting exactly what he needed from Esme. I love your ending, seeing Edward leave behind the regrets and embrace all that he is and all that Bella has become. Finally it becomes the marriage of fully-accepted equals that Bella has wanted.

You’ve added an interesting twist with Hayden and Camille coming to them for advice. It was exactly the opportunity Bella needed to push Edward to reconsider his guilt. I like all of the sides of this issue that you bring out, not just Edward’s guilt at turning Bella, but his 1910s values of being the caretaker in his marriage, being the strong one, thinking of his own desires as impure. You capture Edward really well. You capture Bella’s patience and love for Edward really well, too. She has given him a long time to get over this, and to truly accept her in her new form, before pushing the way she did in this scene.

Bella’s dream of the circus is so apt, Emmett as strongman, Alice as fortune-teller, Carlisle as ringmaster. It’s excellent. I also like Bella’s eventual turn during their honeymoon. It’s a realistic alternative that the accumulating venom would eventually turn her. Of course Edward, being Edward, would feel endless guilt about this, despite the plan being to turn her following their return, and despite their “true” honeymoon before her change being entirely Bella’s idea. On the other hand, Bella is completely comfortable with her choice and holds no regrets about the way it happened, having said her good-byes to Charlie and Renee when she left from her wedding. It’s interesting to consider how this underlying difference of opinion festers in their marriage. Your quote at the start of the chapter provides a thoughtful backdrop for considering how Edward’s guilt might darken their relationship.

i like this one. I read this several months ago and still remember the story. So thats good cause i read a lot of fan fiction.

Creature of Habit is so amazing that I had to read some of your other pieces. This one is great. It's refreshing to have such a complete story in such a small package, and the concept of it is wonderful. While I enjoyed Breaking Dawn's premise, I think your's is a little less sci-fi. As I was reading it, I got a totally different vibe than the first three books, and it threw me off. Imperfect Contrition was a nice, gentle transition into Bella's vampirism. To me, it felt very natural, and something that I wondered about. I also appreciated Edward's angst, even when it was unnecessary. It's very Edward.
