I always enjoy your stories and recommendations very much, and this was a lovely piece, perfect just as it is. I think it's a beautiful idea that Spock lays out the logic of alien thought and language on its own terms, and that Uhura rejoices in the chance to truly explore foreign thoughts and cultures through the structure of words. It's complicated, interesting, and smart. The closing lines, in which she learns to know Spock through his subtle, unspoken language, fits both characters perfectly. Very nicely done.

It is such a great concept, and it...it's just amazing!

Very good story. I liked the ending where Uhura thinks "I understand you better than anyone else here will ever try to" and that Spock is looking back thinking the same thing.
That part for some reason was very poignant for me.
I enjoyed Uhura's thoughts on language. How you can not hammer your beliefs into someone else’s language. And that textbooks were written by humans for humans. That is so true.
Good job, I would love to see more from you.

Beautiful language

This literally made me go "aww, cute!" when I was finished reading. It's a very insightful story and a lovely glimpse into Uhura's mind. I can totally imagine her sitting there My only complaint is that it's so short. You should definitely consider expanding into a full length.

awesome ending, even though the story itself was short, i like the points it made, and how their relationship is analyzed from uhura's point of view. it's really indepth, and that's what's really great about it. with this as a sort of prelude to their eventual relationship in the movie, it makes sense how uhura would understand spock more than anyone else. a great, well-thought out story, hopefully you'll make more to highlight their relationship at different points. that would be cool. :P
