Uh, actual non rambling aside -- this is lovely and poignant. I think I audibly D'awwed over the height changing and Nessiah without chains is a fascinating subject. I wonder what he'd look without them.

When you have to redirect half the plot to manage a 'good ending', you know the original writers were out to make a point... That said, great piece. The Imperial faction needs way more love than they get (yes, even Leon) and it's nice to see something going thier way for once. And Nessiah + Revenge = win.

I particularly like the snippets of Nessiah just adjusting to life without his chains. It's probably be a monumental relief just to finish puberty.
