CJSpooks 2009-11-28 . chapter 14You're just so amazing! Thanks for writing such great stories! |
Tatsumaki-sama 2009-11-20 . chapter 14Sorry that I haven't been able to review this earlier. School's been killing me - literally.
So anyways, a wonderful ending to this story! Another great retelling of what happened during that episode. The last paragraph with Dean, in regards to his thoughts about Castiel was just utterly breathtaking.
//But Dean Winchester knew that it wasn’t his own death he was living through, but that of a being far more powerful, a creature composed of holy fire and pure soul beneath the temporary and borrowed suit of bones and skin and flesh. And as that which had touched and connected with the hunter’s impure soul and replaced the blemishes with a single handprint- that was the closest thing any living son of Adam knew of Heaven- was put to ruin, the supposedly nerveless scar tissue burned, bled, and died.//
There was just so much emotion packed in this tiny little paragraph that described how Castiel is and will always be to Dean. How he was an angel of the Lord, a soul of purity and power underneath all the flesh and skin. And how with a simple touch, he reached out and connected to Dean.
I was certainly surprised to see that Lucifer was the one who brought Castiel back. And Gabriel! Oh Gabriel, you really need a hug right now. And Castiel! You're alive! Thank goodness. I am quite interested in how this deal that he made with the Devil will play out. Can't wait to read your new story! |
Elizabeth 2009-10-21 . chapter 14 ANother satisfying unbelievable story in the book for you! You're really churrning out the fics aren't you? Can't wait for your next one! Sorry for this really "non-review" I'm at class and yeah, I shouldn't be on here anyway. Just wanted to let you know I read it and love and will be eagerly awaiting the sequel XD |
Feathered Filly 2009-10-20 . chapter 14The hardest part of any story, even harder than the beginning, is the ending; at least of me it was. You run the risk of upsetting/disappointing/failing to deliver a satisfying tying up of the story you just told and what everyone spent their time reading/reviewing. Each of your endings though have been spectacular and this one is no different!
You already know this, but I just absolutely love this whole connection you created for Dean to have to Castiel due to the scar tissue left by Castiel's touch. Feeling the pain and emotions Castiel experienced when being so brutally murdered was beautifully described in it's sadness.
Oh and I'm incredibly glad you decided to go the Lucifer route instead of God- much more interesting scenario and I'm really kinda hoping that's the way the show is going to go. Saddest part of the epilogue of course though was Gabriel kneeling over his young brother's dead body/vessel and cupping the ashes of wings and reciting the Latin prayer. Though the ending when Gabriel returned Castiel's grace was magnificently written as well. You're going to have Gabriel indebted to Lucifer though? Interesting! :D Is that going to come into play in our sequel? We know what he lied to Gabriel since the entire idea of our next story is... well, you know... don't want to give the plot away in the review ;) |
stardust8910@hotmail.com 2009-10-19 . chapter 14 LOVE it! Perfectly emotional as always! I'm going to echo some of the same sentiments and say I hope we see more flashbacks in the sequel, especially those involving Belial and the first time he saw and met Castiel and Gabriel learning of his sinful wants with this naive younger brother he's so protective of. Something else, I'm just curious how you're going to start the sequel; because I'd still like to see a scene involving Dean and Zachariah and Dean thinking Castiel's dead. I know you don't have Chuck in this AU, but Zach could describe in horrible detail what happened to Castiel? Sounds like something he'd do, right? |
Jordan-Daniel 2009-10-19 . chapter 14I love this story! I need to read the sequel!
Cas is back - yay! But at what cost? Will he be able to forgive his beloved brother?
How will everything turn out? I so wanna now.
Great story - thank you so much for sharing!
Greetings,
J-D |
TranquilTears 2009-10-19 . chapter 14Amazing ending! Sad that it's done, but I'll be looking forward to the sequel. Thinking Lucifer will play apart since he's wanting Castiel as a disciple and Gabriel's indebted to him. Will Castiel be tested somehow or something? Just trying to think what's going on in that magnificent little mind of yours! The little bits about Gabriel hunting down his little brother's grace, Dean feeling the death of Castiel, and Castiel completely destroyed wings were all incredibly sad. Sounded like Castiel's wings were actually ripped from his body, or were they just torn apart? I guess it's the same thing, but I'm thinking that's going to be a long lasting injury, even if Gabriel returns Castiel's grace, seems like a monstorous injury that can't be healed completely in one go. Nice job though and another satsifying story told by you, and I'm sure the sequel will be even better! |
 Shinaria 2009-10-19 . chapter 14A sequel! Oh goody. :)
Liked the little confrontation between Gabriel and Lucifer. Wow. At least Castiel is back and alive, but at what cost?
I was wondering about that...with how you're going to fit your next sotry around Chuck and 'Michael's vessel' and everything. But knowing what a great writer you are, I think whatever you do will work out.
Can't wait for the next story! Keep up the great work! |
Ginger 2009-10-19 . chapter 14 What amazing luck I have to have caught chapter 13 and the epilogue on the same day! Your fics have gotten me through/over some of the not so great SPN eps and I'm talking about the past 2 eps. You never disappointment me though, so I'm always excited when I check on your fics and see new updates waiting for me. You did have Gabriel def redeem himself in this epilogue! I still liked him even after he stood by and listened/watched as Castiel was slaughtered, but if he were to help he would've been destroyed himself in some way, even though he's an archangel there's got to be someone more powerful than him he would have been set upon him. Checking your other reviews I have to agree with 'Voldemort'; I DEFINITELY want to see more flashbacks in this new sequel, especially the ones she mentioned. The one I'm most curious about though and really hope you're able to work into the story is Belial's and Castiel's first meeting. I'm thinking Castiel was too naive & innocent to fully understand what Belial wanted from him, though I'm sure Gabriel was not and he warned Castiel and threatened Belial...and I'm just incredibly curious to find out more about that! It's long overdue actually ;)
Well I'll see you at the sequel! |
 L. Eastham 2009-10-19 . chapter 14Boy am I glad I stayed up this late! Even though it's 4:00 in the morning here and I have to get up at 7:00 for class, this was well worth the sacrifice, who cares if I'll be falling asleep in class tomorrow, it's a short week anyway, only have to make it through 3 days and then a glorious 4 day weekend that I'm going to take full advantage of. For this epilogue though, all I can is damn! Usually epilogues are so short and pointless and really add nothing to the story, it's just an author not willing to let their "baby" go as it were. This though, even though we knew what happened with Lucifer and Lilith and Sam it was still fun to read, especially your insertion of Belial and Lilith's taunting of Sam playing on his guilty conscience. I'm not sure what was sadder though, Dean feeling Castiel dying or Gabriel grieving over his brother's empty vessel and death. They're both so protective and fond of Castiel, and even though Dean's not actually Castiel's brother and eons younger than him, Castiel is like Dean's younger brother as he is to Gabriel in alot of ways as well. I really like your Lucifer, not saying I don't like the shows Lucifer because I really like him as well, you've really captured his sympathetic nature here. Perhaps the saddest part of the whole epilogue though was Gabriel having tracked down the scattered pieces of Castiel's destroyed grace. I'mm giddy for the sequel! Hope it's not to long before it's posted! |
Voldemort- Coolest Badguy EVER 2009-10-19 . chapter 14YES! *happy dance* Castiel lives! 8D
Loving the Castiel and Gabriel brotherly love at the end there - even if Gabriel had to sacrifice GOD knows what to get him back. But yes, Gabriel has redeemed himself. 8)
I pray that "Measures of Reconciliation" is up very very soon - I think I speak for everyone when I say it will be highly anticipated!
I'm already liking Lucifer; he says Gabriel is indebted to him, but I'm curious if his interest in having Castiel as a "disciple" will turn into something more sinister - and then there's always his promise to Belial to reward him with "his angel"...
Too many questions and possibilities! Please update as soon as you can!
Happy writing!
- Coolest Badguy EVER
P.S. I'd love it if there were some more flashbacks in "Measures of Reconciliation" like the one in Chapter 13... Perhaps a memory of when Castiel first approached Gabriel instead of following from a distance... Castiel first meeting Belial (creepy thought, that)... Gabriel first realising Belial "wanted more than just a brother" in Cas... etc etc.
But really, I'll stop making requests. I'll be happy with anything, so long as you can post it quick!! 8) |
Jessica 2009-10-19 . chapter 14 Wide range of emotions here, I'm sad this story is completed, but a great very believable way for it to have ended. I personally think Lucifer prob did have something to do with bringing Castiel back. I'm so happy though that there will be another story to look forward to from you, I can never get enough of your writing. This epilogue was so beautiful though, from Gabriel's lament, protectiveness, wrath and I particularly liked that you had Gabriel hunt down all the pieces of Castiel's grace. THAT was incredibly touching, as was being indebted to Lucifer. I'll be eagerly waiting for your new story, hope you have it out soon! though I know it takes some time to plan new stories, because I'm thinking you're one of those authors who creates an outline of what's to happen in each chapter of your story, because all your stories are too well plotted/planned to not be. Still, I'll be eagerly waiting! |
MoonlightRitual 2009-10-19 . chapter 14What a terrific way to end this story. Gabriel indeed redeemed himself, even with working with Lucifer. Just shows how much he loves his younger brother. Poor Cas was so destroyed, even having his wings torn off; what happened in the show was just too much, but here what you did was just as painful and tormentful, but I guess not as gory? I'm not sure of the word, but thank you for altering that little bit.
Oh and Dean feeling Castiel dying? Utterly heartbreaking, This connection with Dean has to Castiel with the the handprint is such a creative idea and opens the door for so many angst filled moments/emotions for Dean, so I want to applaud you for that too. I'm sure I mentioned that before in past reviews, but just thought I'd mention it again!
I'm excited to hear there'll be another sequel though! Can't wait to see how you tie everything together and what you have in store. I'll definitely be there and I'm putting you on author alert so I know right away when you post that new story! |
baad51 2009-10-19 . chapter 14Holy sh*t! This is one great epilogue. I feel like i've been waiting for so long for this, and it really worth the wait. And omigod, i can't wait for the next sequel. I'm sure it will be gerat. I'm liking your Lucifer already. ANd btw, when Lecifer visits Gabriel, is he already in he's vessel? And if he is, whos is the vessel? Gahh please post the aequel soon :) |
Ginger 2009-10-18 . chapter 13 Yoo hoo! You finally updated! You certainly made up for the long wait with this amazing chapter. This Belial character of yours seriously would be amazing to have on the show, of course his character would have to be toned down A LOT, but I think the CW would be alright with a character like him. Afterall, there's a lot more provoctive stuff on those stupid shows like Gossip Girl and 90210. The dialogue in this chapter of course couldn't have happened, but still, even a toned down Belial would be awesome to see come alive. He's a character that I just love to hate, but I'm so glad Dean knows what Castiel's been having to endure because of this demon. The Gabriel and Cas stuff totally pulled at my heartstrings. Gabriel just couldn't bring himself to punish his own brother, even though death by the sword would have been alot less painful and swifter than being torn apart. Oh and quickly, the flashback scene was so well inserted into this story, usually flashbacks are just randomly thrown in, but this was for an actual reason and was so heartwarming and heartbreaking. Ramiel was an interesting character to! |
